I'm really interested to see the ambient lighting. Does anyone have pictures yet?

Assuming it looks the same, here are pictures of it in the Focus:

Ford did a pretty good job on the interior for the Focus. Now only if they could fix the looks from the outside...

Just kidding, I don't really want a Focus........

I was kind of surprized by how the nice the interior is in it though....

I wonder how much the lighting package will on the Mustang though?

I think that just one of the ambient colors is shown in the pictures above (blue?). Seems you can change it. From Ford's site:

Instant atmosphere
As part of the Focus interior overhaul, drivers, passengers and passersby can dive into instant atmosphere with seven lighting options that illuminate the center console, front and rear footwells, and the rear center console cupholder. It’s an awesome feature to have if, a) you’re incredibly moody, b) your friends are incredibly moody or, c) you’ve decided that you look better in a splash of purple haze.

So, just by cycling through a dash-mounted switch, you and your passengers can always be seen in your best light. Whether that’s red, orange, blue, indigo, violet, green or yellow, half the fun is trying them all on.

The 08 Ambient Lighitng Package Includes Footwell Lighting Front And Rear. All I Have to Go On is Wiring Diagrams at this Point. It does Not Look to be An Easy Retrofit at this Point. I have Sent the Wiring Diagrams for the Ambient Lighting and the HID's To One of our TMS Wiring guru's for Analysis. Further Info To Follow with Parts Catalog Update and Release of 08 Shop Manual!

My wife's Audi A4 has red LEDs in the overhead console to light up the shirter area. My dads old Jag X-Type did the same in green. Creates a create looking glow on the area surrounding the shifter at night. It would be cool if the Mustang could do the same hooked up the to the MyColor.

The factory NAV screen does a great job creating ambient lighting!

Seriously though, there are Gentex rear view mirrors on the market that already have the "mood" lighting in white, amber, and blue (user selectable).

It's like the BMW setup - very cool! I think it would be easier and cheaper to get one of those mirrors then to try and retrofit a bunch of lights into the car.

The factory Nav costs two Grand!

Ambient lighting only costs $295, less with the X-plan.

Ambient lighting doesn't offer map guidance or touch screen audiophile sound.

What's next? A disco ball in the dome lamp? Rather the company spend time addressing some of the car's shortcomings instead of adding gimmicks. But that's IMHO. Just hope Ford never offers anything like "I-(can't)-drive" in future models.
