Whats the big deal, Saleen, Steeda, Roush, and tuners like lingenfelter have all dabbled with SUV's. Not to mention SVT themselves

I'm willing to bet that the Expedition was a Ford idea. Put the Shelby name on it, advertise a bit, up the price for an SE and hey you got something that'll sell and make more money than it should. So I think the greediness may actually be on Ford's to-do list. Besides the SVT Cobra wouldn't be COBRA without Shelby making the Cobra first now would it. No offense, all in good fun.

Although the Shelby thing came from outside the ball park and not even the left field, what's wrong with giving back to a guy who gave so much to Ford in the past? Unlike most companies, Ford is the only company I know of where people actually RECOGNIZE people from the company... Jack Roush, Steve Saleen, Carol Shelby, even Bill Ford Jr.

How many names can you blurt from Chevy? I can think of none, which goes to show you how much these fella's mean to the Ford owning populace (this excludes you, lol).

Shelby is just a figurehead anyway, he didnt design a single part on the cobra roadster show car, he just stood around and said, "thats cool man" After every major idea along the way was submitted.

It's better than a Shelby Corvette. Or Shelby Suburban.

The Shelby Expedition might be nice. I think it's probably completely unnecessary, but I'm sure it'll be pretty cool, regardless.

The youths of America (though, I am one, myself) are losing touch with noticing that wisdom comes with age. Yes, he may be a geezer, but he's had more experience with cars than any of us could dream about. That's what has brought him wisdom.

I say leave it alone and as long as there isn't a Shelby Focus coming, it's fine with me.

Well gee, the CEO's of America should get no credit then for the success of their respective businesses just "because" they give things the yes or no to go ahead.

What, did Bill Ford design the Mustang? No, but we give him and others credit for choosing a designer's good work instead of their bad work.

I don't mind a Shelby Stang, as long as Ford builds it, and Shelby overlooks it.
I would like to buy an SE straight from Ford, instead of a Rouch, Steeda etc.

The way things are shaping up, it sounds like the first SE will be a Shelby? Although the BOSS seems to be close.
I wouldn't mind another Mach1 being made either!

As long as the Shelby does not look like the Roush, I am all for it.

Shelby Mustangs are big part of Mustang's history and this is the perfect bodystyle to honor that legacy.

While ol' Shelby himself has his rough edges, he is still an automotive icon.

I have dreamed of owning a Shelby for 30 years. I hope it will finally come true. This maybe the last chance to live a dream.

At this point in time I would have to imagine that Ford is behaving very well right now. After a slew of mechanical problems, then a major drop off in stock price... The last thing Ford would be trying to do is screw the masses, that could very well be the final tome for them if they did.

So many pre-launch conspiracy theories

You have to remember that before Shelby, the mustang
was considered a "chick" car. Their major customers were
women wanting a 6cyl mustang. It wasn't taken seriously
until the 65 Shelby GT350. I dare to say had it not been for
Shelby, the mustang would not be the car it is today. Matter
of fact it would probably look a lot more like a ford Probe, and
we all know the fate of the Probe.

You also have to take into consideration that the young men
and women who were buying Shelby mustangs and Cobras in
the 60's are now driving SUV's because the mustang is not
comfortable to get in and out of.

It is pratically a license to print money, take a ~$35,000 Expedition,
add ~$3,000 worth of parts and sell it for ~$50,000. The man is a
genius, :worship: and those same people who were driving the
Shelby's in the 60's will buy them just so they can drive a Shelby again.

A lot of people will buy this car because of its name - Mustang. Alot of people will buy the Shelby because of its name. The cool thing about the Shelby is it will probably be faster than heck.

OK, let me see if I understand this: you wouldn't buy a faster, better handling Shelby Mustang simply because he also put his name on an Expedition?!? Ummmm...OK I guess...
