Yes the 05 is on the issue....
...but its not what you think.

Its a "future cars" issue.

So looks like it'll be next month boys/gals.
October 1 embargo stands.

http://motortrend.com/toc/112_0410_cover_pl.jpg

However there is a Ford GT VS Enzo VS Carrera GT highspeed shootout!

I didn't have a chance to read all the stuff....but I do remember the 1/4 mile numbers.

Enzo -> 11.0
Carrera GT -> 11.1
Ford GT -> 11.2

I need my copy to come in so I can read it....(this was just a newstand copy)

Evil_Capri 9/2/04 11:58 AM

I wonder if the November issue will be a 'Ford' issue with '05 Mustang, 500, and Freestyle tests? :scratch:

What do you mean by "The embargo still stands"?

Ford won't let any publications publish info on the '05 until Oct. 1.

The media agrees not to publish any driving impressions before October 1st

in the issue, they maybe have a 10 sentence blurb that the Mustang is all-new for 2005

UGAKarl 9/2/04 01:02 PM

What would happen if they broke the embargo? Withhold driving tests in the future? I say we get Drudge on the case!

holderca1 9/2/04 01:50 PM

Yeah, so what does the media get in return for keeping quiet?

mustangfun101 9/2/04 01:51 PM

The question (as always) will the information from the articles leak before then???

TennesseeMustangManiac 9/2/04 02:08 PM

Man I can't wait for all the mags to run the reviews of the 05s.

I would imagine they have to sign a non-disclosure agreement prior to receiving a pre-production car to test.

uh...LEGAL ACTION

mustangfun101 9/2/04 02:20 PM

If I remember correctly didn't the Motor Trend pages on the new design get onto here before they hit the stands?

Boomer 9/2/04 02:26 PM

Correct, I had the magazine about a week....prior to the NAIAS showing

Explanation:

-MT hasn't come in yet at home.
-I was on lunch and checked the variety store here...
-they had it, searched the mag, before the store owner yelled "This is NOT a reading library, buy or get out white boy"
-hence why not a lot of info :)

Ontario has some rough 'Book Stores'! :jester:

Dan 9/2/04 03:06 PM

Oh yah, we have some of the roughest book stores. I'm sure he got "frisked" extensively as well.....either by force or by request, hehe. :jester:

conv_stang 9/2/04 03:11 PM

not bad for the GT only .1 and .2 behind the Enzo and Carrera GT. gee 150K compared to 700K and 500K nice!

Wombert 9/2/04 03:17 PM

Agreed :-D

Buy a GT. Lose only 2 tenths. Put the half mil that you save down on a house, or a fleet of mustangs :banana:

You know, for the budget conscious types :rolleyes:
