Hi guys cut and paste I found this at another forum.

Just got the latest issue of Motor Trend (January 2007) and here is what it says about the new Mustangs.

"The Mustang continues to be one of the few bright spots in Ford's product range, and Dearborn intends to make the most of the reborn ponycar's popularity. The recently announced 325-horsepower Shelby GT will be joined by two more Mustang variants in 2007 -- an all-new Bullitt and the long-rumored Boss.

The new Bullitt will be the best interpretation up to this time of the iconic 1968 390 GT driven by Steve McQueen in the movie that still sets enthusiasts' pulses racing for its real-world chase sequence through the streets of San Francisco.

Insiders who've seen styling mockups report the 2007 Bullitt feaetures a plain grill without galloping pony badge or spotlights and a black-painted panel between the taillight, just like McQueen's '68. Naturally, the car will be availible in Highland Green.

More significant, though, will be the new Boss, which will introduce Ford's all-new 5.0-liter Hurricane V-8.

Due late int he year, the limited-edition Boss will get a 425- to 435-horsepower version of the Hurricane, a stripped-down interior (though air-conditioning will be availible), and less sound deadening.

The idea is to replicate the original Boss mustang's race-special feel. Only 1000 cars will be built.

Slightly detuned from Boss spec, the Hurricane will become the regular Gt's engine in 2008, when the Mustang will get a major face-lift. Insider's report every exterior panel is to be changed and updated, with the base cars getting a more aggressive look similar to that of the current Shelby GT500. The GT500, meantime, will become even more extreme looking.

An all-new Mustang is due 2010, a year after the new Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger launch."

2007 Bullitt feaetures
There's your 1st clue of the validity of that post. Bullitt is a 2008.5.

Maybe it was a typo on the poster's part, but I agree with others that there isn't going to be a "5.0 liter hurricane engine" in the Boss.

Based on what I've read and heard so far, sounds like it will be a Shelby GT in green clothing and sans scoops. JMO.

I don't even think it'll be that....

Angus MacKenzie mentions it in his column too...

"all-new 5.0L hurricane v8 that'll replace Fords 4.6L v8 as a regular production engine from late 2007, early 2008"

I think he was pounding back the sauce at SEMA

Did he say that on his private jet flying to/from Florida that costs $30,000 per flight?

Ford wants to cut costs? Fine. The first thing they should cut are the executive salaries and executive perks. The last thing they should do is skimp out on the product line and **** off more customers.
Basic marketing 101: No customers? No profit.

I don't recall McQueen's '68 Stang being painted black between the tail lights.

Over at IMBOC, this guy is claiming that Motor Trend actually shows some sort of picture of the new Bullitt and the New Boss 302.

That's where you're wrong.
It's body color, but IMHO there should be an option for black trim around the lights

That still would not put them ahead of GM or Dodge, but agreed, it's a god step in theright direction. the problem is, Gm and dodge have 500 and over hp n/a engines in development for the Camaro and Challenger.

the same motor that is being put into the BOSS that is coming out later '07. This motor will have 425-435hp.

all i can say is WOW!!!
It'd be nice, but I doubt that you'll see any major differences in 08

The area around the taillights is obviously darker than the rest of the car. Whether it's black or not is open to interpretation but one thing it most definitely is not is body color.

Does anyone honestly think the competing cars will be in the same price range model for model, not to mention the weight.

People can argue till your blue in the face about how 'it'll have this'
Until its out and confirmed and tested... argue all you want... it won't do any good
