Mardi Gras Mustang GT
#1
My first post, but I've been reading for a while and found the site very helpful in understanding the process of getting this car after ordering it. Well, my car's status is now "Released from the factory", which is a new one on me, but it should get here by 2/9 give or take a week. I leave for Mardi Gras next Friday, so my luck is it will come in while I'm gone... :bang: But, if it does come in on the 9th, that will be the day I return and would something good to look forward to on the return trip.
I ordered on 11/20, but the order didn't go in until 11/29 due to the Thanksgiving holiday. I'm obviously anxious to get it and will certainly post some pics of it when I get it.
This will be my first real Mustang, although I did have a Mustang II in the late 70's. My dad had a 1965 or 1966 Mustang when I was a young kid.
When this new body style was released, I was instantly in love with the car. I was getting my hair cut in October of last year when I saw a write up in a car mag and started looking for them at the dealerships. The first dealer that had one that I could see in the Atlanta area was charging a Market Adjustment of $8995. Needless to say, I didn't order from them even though they were closest to my house.
The car is a manual GT, satin silver, IUP, ICAP, Shaker 1000, active alarm, side airbags and the 17" machined wheels. Price: $27,197 with no special purchase plans.
edit: As of 1/27, shipped via convoy carrier!
Also saw this photochop listed on another site and thought it would be a nice option, especially for a V6...
Idea for front grill

Entered this late yesterday, so not sure if anyone really saw it... on the other hand, maybe it's just not that exciting news. I know many of you have had longer waits and I do feel fortunate to have light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks for the sentiments smitty and ponyboy66...
I won't be going to New Orleans Mardi Gras, but Mamou Mardi Gras instead... small compared to the Big Easy, but no less fun (but, unfortunately less flesh ;-)
