Keep or remove body kit?
 

Hey guys,

I have been getting a lot of negative comments on my body kit and wondering do you guys think its bad also? I like it ok but growing to dislike it. I need some opinions, Help me out.

Personally, I'm not keen on it. But that's not to say that you should remove it. If you like it, keep it on the car. It's my humble opinion that the stock GT looks great naturally...

+1 It doesn't make any difference what I think. If like it keep it. I don't care for it as to me it looks too plastic.

I think the car would look much better without the kit. A little over the top. In the end, you have to be happy.

Yes, off as soon as possible. No offense meant, but it is horrible. Otherwise your car is beautiful. The Mustang needs no spoilers, body kits or over done stripes, yours are perfect! Its styling is such that it needs very little enhancement. When looking at the car your eye immediately goes to the body kit and not in good way. All enhancement should work in such a way that nothing stands out, and the whole car looks integrated. jmho One Mustang lover to another.

I would not prefer one on my car. If you find you are not loving it any more, determine what is bugging you about it. To me, one of the tricks with body kits are how they integrate with the original design. Do they integrate seamlessly, or do you immediately notice where the original ends and the add-on begins? These have even been done poorly by the factory. I reference some of the awful side cladding GM stuck on some Pontiac sedans and coupes to help *separate* them from their corporate twins. Just plain ugly. Do they follow existing lines, or create their own character lines that may not flow with the original design? If they do extend original lines, does extending those lines make sense? To me, the rocker skirts are *busy*. At the rear, the line of the wheel well follows and extends, but I cannot say I prefer the extension of that line. For me personally, a body kit that would pass these benchmarks would be one I might consider. I am generally not a huge fan of body kits. This particular kit does not score well, for me personally.

Not for me.I think the Cal Special rear bumper cover would look good but I would lose the rest.Nice clean car by the way.:)

You altered the body, need some new rims to offset the body IMHO.

I was never a fan of that bodykit, especially the rear. Its just too much, but most people end up thinking bodykits have to be over the top but the best looking ones tend to be the most simple. Any type of sideskirt that isn't simple i've never liked, either. Just too over the top for me.

You said you like it okay, so if you're growing to dislike it get rid of it. You can sell it and use that cash for some Roush pieces, or Saleen if you don't want to go back to the stock GT look. In the end, its you who has to live with it. Some people hate the heck out of my stripes, but I love them so that's all that matters. Do what you want to do because you like it, not because you'll get comments about it everywhere you go.

It's a bit ricey, i think if you changed that side rocker it would look better but still very busy... i guess i am partial i dont think mustangs should go the way of the civics etc....

I will post some pics later today, This adhesive is very hard to get off but i'm working on it. You guys made it a pretty easy choice for me, everyone on here hates it so gotta go with the experts. Thanks for the honest opinions. i have breesnpeed tune/intake ordered, and springs pro kit eibach. Should I Keep rims?
