I've followed all the IUP threads since the shortages cropped up. But I went to price a V6 on the KBB website to get invoice for the car I want w/o some extras. You can no longer price the V6 Mustang on KBB with IUP. It only allows the selection of Interior & Exterior Sport Package.

I knew they stopped allowing orders for the IUP on the V6 but it seems interesting that KBB would also remove that option if it was a temporary issue.

i posted that a few days ago, someone on here said it was to discourage people from ordering V6's with IUP to help the shortage.

According to recent reports, issues with IUP (primarily MyColor) shoulw be resolved within another month, and the availability issue should ease.

What I really love is the fact that the Ford website still allows you to build the 05 Mustang V6 with the IUP option

Wasn't there a post saying that they are making V6's with IUP again?

You always could order a V6 with IUP and you still can.

But in the last month or two almost all V6 IUP orders have been placed on indefinite hold and IUP parts directed to GT production because of an IUP component shortage cuased by unexpected demand.

Ford recently said they are increasing IUP parts production, so V6 IUP backlog orders should start to trickle through and new orders will eventually get built. But new V6 IUP orders will still have a longer delivery time.

So your choice is simple: If you want V6 with IUP be prepared to wait a longer time, maybe quite a few weeks over standard delivery. If you want it ASAP then pick another configuration.

The Ford web site is the last place to go if you want accurate, up-to-date information. B)

Last time I checked they were still showing a leather steering wheel standard on the GT, but every GT I've seen without IUP or IUP-lite has had the same Polyurethane wheel as the V6.

My guess is that they contracted out for the web page design and don't have anyone in-house that knows how to make changes. They're probably waiting for "Bill from IT" to come over and fix it...
