iPod hook up in a 2005 Mustang GT
Hello everyone, this is my first post and I'm still trying to figure out how everything works. Anyway a little introduction... I'm 18 and have a Chevy truck and a Honda bike but when I went to get a car I had to go with the legendary Mustang. So I went and got myself a 2005 Ford Mustang GT. Manual of course. Its black on black and had almost everything in it. It has the shaker 500 and I know they didn't do iPod plugs till 2007 and I also know that you can buy the adapter thing for like $70. However is there a cheaper way to link it to the aux? If not whats the best price you guys have gotten and where did you go for the install?

hello from northeast texas, im josh. fairly new to this website to but its been kickass since i joined found lots of information and whatnot out in the little bit of time ive been on. i wanted to do the same to my 05 v6 but honestly the best way to me was to buy an aftermarket radio with a aux/usb.

I will buy Jack Stands!!!
Agreed. Aftermarket is going to be easier, it will also provide better sound, more options, and are overall better than stock in every way except for maybe aesthetics

This is want you want if you want a plug in system. You do need to call them to verify your radio # on the early cars. 4S compatible, I'm getting one soon once I verify my radio.

I have one of the original PIE AUX adapters in mine. Every once in a while it will lose connection with the aux input, but otherwise it's been working fine for 6+ years.

Since there have been enough issues with the adapters, I went with a complete head unit swap. This one is a Clarion with color changing face (to match the MyColor gauges) and bluetooth audio and phone, so I can play off my Android wirelessly (that's the Android in the cupholder, since the cupholder is useless for any real drinks if you still want to shift... lol!). It has iPod controls and can connect using the USB connection, as well.
