Has anybody else noticed the lack of an interior trunk release? I know we are going retro, but come on! If this has already been posted, please disregard my slowness. I teach special ed, and may be a little special ed myself.

The real funny thing was the rather large sales guy trying to find it. He was in the driver's seat practically upside down looking under the dash. He swore up and down that it was there. Maybe I am blind, but I didn't see it.

Look all you want. It isn't there. I probably won't be able to get one until '06. Hopefully ford will add it by then. Or maybe, when Job 2 is built, it may include it. Just speculating.

what, too lazy to fold down the rear seats and crawl into the trunk? i'm sure there's one there...

kidding aside, both my 90 and 02 mustangs had them in the glovebox compartment. it's sad when a carmaker deletes features that have been around for so long.

I think the intention is to use the remote release on the key fob.

However I think there should be one somewhere up front also.

Many of the new cars have no rear decklid keyhole anymore - cost reduction I assume.

i just scanned through the owners manual and no inside release unless you are already locked in the trunk. good for kids, car jackings and sneaking into the drive-ins

1. key fob
2. key in the lock in back of car.

Don't forget folding down the rear seat.

And a crowbar.

On my 99, the trunk release on the key fob didn't work if the keys were in the ignition. Hopefully this isn't the case because it could get real annoying when you need to open the trunk and have to turn off the car.

hmm.. what is easier? leaning over to open up your glovebox or hitting a button on your key fob?

Plus the trunk release is now set up to work even if the car is moving at very slow speeds.

I fail to see the problem. It's on the fob, what do you need another trunk release for?

The key fob doesn't work with the engine running, on the SN95's, the button in the glovebox did.

ahseee.... well, I've never had the need of opening a trunk while the engine was running so I guess it's not one of the things I'd notice....if...I....would...have...the...dang....c ar...that is.

And if the keys are in the house, but you want to open the trunk... gotta go find the keys, instead of using an interior opener.... bad oversight in my opinion...
