First off  finaly light at the end of the tunnel!
The erl says build date of 12/5...when does it add on the delivery date? A buddy of mine got a build date of 11/14 (first time calling was 11/18) and it already had a delivery date of 12/9. I just want to know if I will get it around xmass...that would be nice. This is a order process I started on 8/26...right before Katrina. I ordered berfore my friend...and that sucker is going to get his before me :bang: . I ordered before the storm 8/26 and he ordered 10/18! The dealer droped the ball on my order but the price is to nice to be mad. Just happy its moving along... |

It turned out that December 14 was my build date because when I checked on December 16 the message was 'as of December 14 your unit was shipped via convoy carrier with and ETA week of December 25', then a few days later it changed to 'week of December 31'. The car arrived on December 28 and I drove it home that night. |
hmmm well mine doest say any of that other stuff...just week of dec 5th. I posted my vin to get more info on it...im just trying to get an idea so I can get a car and a truck sold.

In your 1st post I remember reading where your frien called and got the build week of 11/14 (he called on the 18th) and got a delivery ETA...it's possible that the car had been built and shipped when he called so ERL gave him the delivery ETA. In the case of your car- Since you have a build week of 12/5 (a Monday) that means the car will be built sometime during the week (between Monday-Saturday). Once it's built and shipped it usually takes about 2 weeks for the car to arrive at the dealer...but I've also seen cars arrive in a little as 1 week and as long as a month (mine took exactly 2 weeks to arrive) |
Yeah we didnt get our hands on the phone # and the codes we needed till the 18th. So maybe thats it...his is built already and thats why he got a estamated delivery date. So if the ERL says a estamated delivery date that means its been shipped possibly....or can this delivery date change.

The only way you can be sure the car has been shipped is when ERL tells you that, along with the dealer ETA. And yes, delivery dates can change. Mine went from 'week of December 25' to week of January 1', and the car arrived on December 28. |
Ok I just got updated!!!! It now says as of dec 7th, I am locked in for production week of dec 5th with an estamated delivery date of dec 22nd!!!! Darn I need to sell two cars quick lol.
My friends now says your unit has arived at the ramp or something like that....what does that mean....waiting to get shipped? |

In my case I got the message 'at the ramp' and got my car a couple days later. |
So that means its going by truck not rail car? Man I cant believe he is really getting his before me lol. His estamated delivery date is dec 9th so it could be sooner. Where exactly is it built at??
|
I am also scheduled for the week on 12/5. i waited on posting because I changed to the dark charcoal IUP and didn't find out until today if the upgrade took . If I am lucky, Christmas will be real good for me this year.

His estamated delivery date is dec 9th so it could be sooner. Where exactly is it built at?? Regarding your comment 'that means it's going by truck, not rail'... The car has to be loaded on a truck for it's final ride from the mixing lot to the dealership. I mean how many car dealers are located next to railroad tracks? None that I'm aware of. Based on what I've read here some Mustangs go from convoy, to rail, then back to convoy in their journey from the factory to the dealer, while others went straight from the plant to the dealer on a truck. Regarding my car...from the 1st message letting me know the car had been shipped via convoy to the day it arrived at the ramp the message never changed...'as of <date> unit has been shipped via convoy carrier', I never got 'shipped by rail'. |

It has been updated again to shipped by rail and the estimated arrival at the rail yard here is week of the 30th! So he should get it real soon.... As for mine still locked in for dec 5th. I did order some springs last night....now I need to get some tires for the rims I already have. |

So my friends went from saying your unit has shiped and should arrive week of the nov 30th...now it says as of dec 1st your unit has arrived at the ramp. So does that mean its at the rail yard here??? Did it really get here on the 1st...it has just updated to that today.

Hang in there, soon you will be shouting it's here!!
I just got updated, still week of Dec 5, delivery week of Dec 25. I have my fingers crossed. |
Man you know as messed up as it is....The date being pushed back is almost good. I have two cars to sell before I can even pick up the gt. One should be easy (f-150 4x4)...but one (acura cl-s) has been in the body shop for over 5 months between "it should be totaled but got fixed anyway” and "sitting in a parking lot at that same body shop, on a roof while hurricane Katrina produced 5 foot of water right under it. I will be so glad when it’s all done...
