The few times i've been stopped in SC (graduated from Clemson) on my way home to Atlanta the state troopers have always knocked my tickets down if you're polite and cooperative.

When I took the exit for my office, I noticed blue strobes behind me, so I pulled over, turned on the dome lights, and waited.
"License and registration, please, sir," so I handed them to him. "I pulled you over because you made an agreesive lane change and began speeding. Can you explain why you were driving like that?"
I knew he had me, so I said, "No excuse, officer, no excuse." He paused for a minute, smiled and said, "Well, thank you, sir, for not offering up a bull**** excuse like everyone else!" He handed me my papers and then said, "People drive crazy already, sir, no need to act like the rest of them. Have a nice day!"
He went back to his cruiser and I had to chuckle......

I doubt a judge would agree with you.

I wonder how great the cops feel. Walk into the station in the morning and the captain says that you get a new car, then hands you the keys to a GT. I wonder if the cops took the car on a back road and tested their limits in the car.

I remember there was a stretch of interstate (think it was 95 but it might have been 20) near Florence were you could drive really fast, because it was built over a swampy area and there was no places for cops to hide. I used to drive back and forth between Columbia SC (college) and Wilmington, NC (Hometown)

Entrapment is pestering or coercing someone into an action they woiuldnt do under normal circumstance.
a cop asking you once to sell him some weed is not entrapment. A cop asking you 25 times (until you say "OK" just to get him to leave you alone) is entrapment.

I disagree. I doubt that all of the "Johns" who get nailed by cops in prostitute garb were asked 25 times if they wanted a date. All it takes is once.
As for the racing, I also doubt the officer only revs his engine once. It usually takes several blips of the throttle to get the message across. Besides, if the cop initiates the street race, he is coercing you to do something that you normally wouldn't have at that time and place. Illegal. It's hard to respect law enforcement officers who blatently ignore the laws they're tasked to enforce.
These cops need to move to cities with real crime to give them something productive to do.

Yah they call it 'beach traffic' they hand them out like candy and they know most are out of state so they will probably pay it off and not go to court.
No way i'm going to court (far away) but what if I wrote the judge a letter? I am just out of the military...I was thinking I could use that to my advantage. Any ideas?

If you're in the military, show up in a crisp, clean uniform and conduct yourself professionaly.
If I knew I was wrong and speeding, I'd just pay the ticket., as I have done half a dozen times before. Do the crime, pay the fine. I believe 19 over is reckless driving in some states, so if he cut it down from that, he's already done you a big favor. I know RD in Virginia can get you jail time and loss of license for up 6 months.

I was cruisin thru the service area at my ford dealer. They do fleet work for the NJ state police and other muni's. They were prepping 4 Black GTs for the NJ state police to use on the Garden State Parkway. They look mean.....all black...black wheels....
