When I went to pick up my car yesterday and when the papers were being signed he said "good, you're not a terrorist". I'm like . Apparently whenever you buy a car now the dealerships have to run your name through a Homeland Security computer to check you out. He commented to me that Best Ford in Nashua, NH (scumbags) had a positive hit and sold to the guy anyway. They were imposed HUGE FINES from the gubberment.

He's got to be joking with you... Terrorist Watch List to buy a car??? You can be on the Terrorist Watch List and still buy a gun! It's true.
Isn't that ironic... a dealership having to turn down a sale because the customer's the shady one.

Well, we're still on topic, and not locked yet...
The scary thing is that there are probably a lot of people in this country, driving some of the nicer cars, running their own business, working along side of us, and we never know that they're planning on doing us future harm.

If you think about it, it's pretty sad. Your on the terriorist watch list & can't buy a car. But bubba down the road with 12 DUI's, no DL, no insurance, & a drug dealer can walk in, pay cash, & be out the door in 5 minutes. That's just wrong on so many levels.

It'd be WRONG if a terrorist got his '05 w/ IUP while there were so many of us waiting! That'd be wrong!

No, seriously, they have it. The one I've seen is a DOS program, updated periodically, I don't know more than that, but I could look up all kinds of names with it. Called SDN for some reason.
They run it at two of my dealership clients. One calls it Taliban and the other calls it Bin Laden. As in "Hey did ya run the Bin Laden on that guy?" And when they do, they have to print out the list after they type the full name in to show it's not in the database, and add it to the order folder.
One day, I was doing work at one of them and they got a 'hit' on SDN. They couldn't believe it. EVERYONE gathered in the tower to see it. They are to immediately call the FBI about that person, and have a further check done.
In this case, it was a generic enough name, like John Williams or Jose Garcia or something like that, so there wasn't a likely that it was actually the person on the list, but still, funtimes to watch. I don't know what happened after the excitement, as I actually had work to do, ya know...

Wrong that a terrorist can't get a car? And, I don't know if it's a state thing, but in Texas, you cannot buy a car without a DL or insurance.

Yea, It's a state thing.....In CA, literally ANYONE can not only buy, but REGISTER a vehicle in their name with the DMV. When we do DUI checkpionts, for every one DUI driver, we arrest 10 unlicensed/suspended drivers .....I read it in the paper every time they do a checkpoint.
But hey, we got Arnold elected to fix everything here.....only problem is he forgot to tell his voters that he was going to balance the budget by cutting pensions for cops, nurses and teachers. What an IDIOT.....:nono:
Sorry, back to the topic.....
