Fuel Gauge Not Working

I just started the car after six weeks in storage and the fuel gauge went to empty. I did a search and it seems that sulphur on the sensor is the culprit. I read that I should put in some Chevron Techron. The car will sit another six weeks, so should I put it in now and let the stuff do its magic while it sits? Also, is Techron ok to use with Stabil in the tank? Thanks for your help.

By the way, what is the best gas to use in Upstate NY?

I think it should be fine to use with storage, however I think I would make sure it is all good and mixed up. Easiest way would be to add the techron, then add a gallon of gas afterward. That should mix things up nicely. Make sure and start it and let it run for a few minutes to get the mixed up gas into the fuel lines and injectors...cleaning them too.

take it back to the dealer and tell them to fix it or you will have to do it every time you store your car.
