Engine swap.
Engine swap.
I want to preface this by saying I’m new to these forums so if I did something incorrectly, I apologize in advance.
I have a 2007 4.0 v6 auto that is my first car and because of that, I don’t think I will ever want to get rid of it. With that being said the engine is getting up there in miles and frankly I just want a v8. Now doing some research I have discovered that if I find a same year donor car GT I should just be able to take everything out of it and “plug and play” for lack of a better phrase, everything and I would have the 4.6 in my car. With that being said I like to be a little unique and the 5.4 out of an svt f150 lightning caught my eye as a possible swap as well, I would assume that it would be way harder. I know that the Gt500s of this generation also had the 5.4 and I wouldn’t be apposed to that either providing I could find a donor for that. I’m pretty sure the Gt500s only came in manual and sadly I don’t know how to drive manual yet, nor do I really want to add a third pedal.
So to sum it up, I’d like to use a 5.4 and was wondering how easy it would be to wire and all other aspects of swapping an engine, especially if I wanted to keep the auto part of my vehicle.

This Thread Will Give You An Idea of Some The Obstacles Involved in Engine R&R. I Realize it's Not What You Are Doing But Shows The Amount Of Work Involved To A Point.
