Do your fog lights come on when you unlock with remote?
 

My '08 GT/CS will unlock with the remote and, at the same time,the fog lights come on. My friend's '06 GT doesn't do this. Is there something wrong with his car or is this one more difference between model years? If so, when did it change?

05 doesn't. Look in your owners manual. Maybe it's a programmable option. :dunno:

Good point I'll look in his manuel next time I see him. After all, if you can program your door locks, why not the foglamps too right? Makes sense to me!

My foglights do, it's an 08...

My '08 GT's foglights do not come on. Headlights do.

My '08 fogs come on.

For '08, the headlamps turn on when unlocking the doors with the remote UNLESS you have HIDs. With HIDS, the fog lamps turn on. For '05, no exterior lights turn on (bummer).

AHHHH, you nailed it! My CS came with HIDs.

And MAYBE '06. Anybody out there with an '06 can tell us ... or even an '07 ?

My 06 only the interior map light turns on, I wish an outside light would come atleast the turn signals.. with my tint it's hard to see if that interior light came on. I hope theres an option somewhere but I doubt it.

That is exactly what my friend's '06 does. Maybe that is all you might get in the '06's. It would be nice to turn that feature on somehow on the '06 car.

a friend with a o7 was asking me why my fogs came on & his head lights came on , i guess we know now , great thing about mustang a little something changes from year toyear,, what about 09?

My 07 GT's lights came on when unlocked via the fob. I disabled it as per the instructions in the owner's manual. Look up the perimeter lighting feature.

As Willie said, it has to do with the HID head lights, at least for the 2007-2008 cars, that should NOT be flipped on and back off, it is not good for them, you are not supposed to flash to pass with them either.

My 2008 HID GT500 turns on the fog lights with the unlock, not the HID headlights. Two different friends 2007 GT500's without HID's turn their headlights on not their fog lights with the unlock.

My 2008 HID Bullitt with NO FOG lights turns on the parking lights with the unlock, not the HID headlights....

Turning the foglamps on and off aren't good for them either.

Thanks for that bit of info ! At least now I have a starting point to look in the manual.

They are halogen bulbs... it's no worse than using the headlamp bulbs.
