Like anyone here believes what they read on BON. That doesn't make sense anyways, the Mustang engine is built at the Romeo, MI plant, which is not even mentioned on there.

Yeah, jibes with what a guy on S197mustang.com went through recently. His GT's engine failed. Took Ford 3 weeks to determine what to do. They decided to swap it for an entirely new vehicle. Maybe he is the guy refered to in the BON article. Hope its isolated to a limited number of cars. Really hard to believe that launch problems of this nature can occur in this day and age. Wondered why the local dealer still has a mustang GT in the showroom after several weeks on the lot.

BON has lost a lot of credibility, they keep running around saying the sky is falling. Online equivalent of the Star.

I think this is the third time this very story has come to the surface from BON. The first time was before they even started actual production. I suppose they thought that since that one guy had a problem they'd float it up there again.

I realize BON is not 100% accurate and their credebility has been questioned. That's why I put on "If this is accurate" on my post. I just don't remember seeing this subject earlier this fall. Must have missed it.
Just wanted to post an FYI for everyone to be alerted of a possible delay in production due to engine problems may be surfacing.
Man after looking at my original post, the coffee must not have kicked in yet. I'm usually not that bad.

Because it mentions what is most problably the guy on Stangnet who had his GT replaced, there's a grain of truth in it. However, as some have stated, BON tends to blow things way out of proportion. Ford could be investigating some of the engines built at those plants due to the issue with that guys GT but that doesn't mean they've completely halted all production.

Yeah Essex was helping with the 4.6 3v until Romeo could get up and running, they'd overlap, then eventually stop when Romeo was up to speed.
Now what they aren't mentioning is details.
It could be a bad batch of engines with a defective part.
If it was ALL, then we'd see that....but they aren't.
So do the math

I know we already determined that anything that comes from BON must be taken with a grain of salt, but the way I read the article, they have stopped SHIPPING, not production, of GTs.
A couple posts in this thread are saying that production has stopped, so just clarifying what the article really says...

Wow, BON is really good at getting the news. Bring up the same story for a third or fourth time. Everytime someone has an engine problem they tack that bit of info with their spin on to the story. It's getting real old. Im sure if there is a legitimate problem then Ford will do something about it. They are not going to let 2 popular selling vehicles go around with defective engines. If they do then these vehicles are not going to continue to sell. BON just plain stinks.

If I am looking for the latest news, TMS is my place to go. Example: BON put on their site today that Ford was not building any cars in January with the IUP/18G option - something Karpro had up December 15th! Nuff said.

Just curious, how do you know where your engine is built? This thread looks like a good place to post this question.

Edit: This is about the best shot I could get of it, not really the easiest thing to photograph, I circled it to make it easier to find. Hope this helps.
