clicking from the front

so if you are having this problem, noise from the front from slow speed turning, have you had it fixed?
The service dept i went to said there is no fix yet and thought it was the spring rubbing on the strut tower and maybe ford will release abeter spring isolater to fix it but they have no fix for now.
Anyone know anything on this matter?

There is an updated Strut bearing kit coming out soon I believe it will be the fix but I have no official word on that!

Hey Kevin: Please keep us posted on that kit when it comes out, so we can get on our local Dealer's Service Department for the fix. Mine is not getting worse in terms of louder, but it is doing it more often which is worse by definition.

Everyone thought that was the wheel bearings or the struts, but people have had them replaced and the sound went away but came back. SO now, hopefully this new fix they are working on will be perm.

Yup I have it and my service department told me yesterday that Ford new about it but has no fix yet. I just wanted to make sure it was noted in my records.
PS They ordered my new shaker 500 yesterday also. Takes about a week.

Mine came back from the shop yesterday. Ford has told the dealers to NOT FIX the problem. They (Ford) will be sending a kit out to fix ALL mustangs. The bearing issue is not a safety hazard. Keep driving until the repair kits are out.

err, just a thought. just trying to help. i read a thread about two missing bolts which are supposed to secure a heat shield to the front of the transmission, i believe, causing a ticking sound. it was only on 5-spd manual tranny GTs.
not saying this is causing your ticking, but it was for some guys. eleanorsmine, it sounds like your problem may be the one i described since yours involves tranny related actions.

Mine started doing it about every 5 or 6 tiems I turned the wheels---turn left & pop; turn right, & pop; then quiet for the next 5 - 6 turns.
Now, it does it about every 3-4 turns; maybe 2-3 turns (I'm not counting them that closely).
It's like once it pops it's good for a while; kind of like when the chiropractor cracks your back or your neck---you're good and loose for a while before it tightens up again.
The old guys and gals will understand....

My car is 9 days old and it is started to pop as well. Thankfully, I knew it was a potential problem (Thanks Mustang Source!), so it didn't bother me too much. I'll just wait for the official fix.
Until then, I think I'll go ahead and install my Eibach Pro springs that were just delivered about 30 minutes ago... !

When Ford comes up with a part to fix this would the problem be released as a TSB?
Plus when a car is first delivered to a dealship from the factory, is it part of the dealer prep to go through all existing TSB's and at least check to see if the problem exists and fix it if it does?

The noise in mine is starting to happen more often. It took quite a few miles for it to show up, but it's there now. I'm also keeping an eye out for Ford's fix. I'm a tech at a Lincoln-Mercury dealer.

The front strut bearing will release soon. 1400 in transit to packager this has got to be the fix. Ford does not have this kind of inventory on a New car replacement part unless there is a problem. I will advise when I get them in. 04/11/05
