I'm thinking about removing the rear seat in m 05 GT sometime.

I know there is at leas one rear seat delete kit availalbe.

I haven't done it yet coz I have no place to store the rear seat.

I live in a very tiny APT and my storage shed is full.

How do you get the rear seat out anyhow? Do you have to remove the front seats before you can remove the rear seats? I don't think you can remove the rear seat w/o removing the front seat(s).

I think the easiest way to remove them is to fold them down and just keep them that way. :jester:

Yea, The bottom part has 2 clips about 1/3 the way in from the sides. Take the tabs and push in. The seat will pop up and you can pull it out. I think that there is some unbolting to remove the backs.

Good Luck Its a little tricky. :nice:

But once you have the rear seat unbolted/unclipped can you remove it from the car w/o removing front seat - is there physically enough room to do that?

Couldn't you take them out through the trunk? Not sure if you can though, may have to go out and look at the angle you would have to pull them out at.

Move both the front seats up, you should have room to spare.

What benefit do you get from removing the rear seats?

Well one reason would be to reduce weight. Maybe free up some more space for a custom sound system.

Yea, i'm trying to make room for my 3000W Mega-Earthquake ™ Subwoofer system - nah, I just want to reduce weight. I have no kids and have no need for a rear seat.

Bigger flat area for cargo, I plan on doing this myself. I have no tolerance for backseat drivers :jester:
