MODS please do not move this topic. I know this is in the wrong area but i need to reach a wider audience.
im looknig for people who are using aftermarket headlamp bulbs. im having an issue where only the right lamp is shutting off after about 15 seconds. its not hot to the touch so i dotn think its overheating. it does not do this with the stock bulb, however it does it with a knockoff 55/60w bulb and the Nokya arctic white 80/100w bulb. Its always the right lamp and always 15 seconds on the dot. my fog lights were also repalced but they have never been an issue. those were early in april with nokya H10 45/55w arctic whites. anyone have any ideas or what kinds of bulbs are you using. |
I am using Nokya Arctic White 80/100s and have no problem.

i get like a burning smell form the right lamp after i remove it. do you think it might be a problem wit the socket or the wiring of the car?
|
I replaced my regular headlights bulbs with the Nokya Arctic Whites and have had no similar problems!
Perhaps it is the right headlight assembly itself??? And it is acting funky with that bulb?? :dunno: |
could be a bad blub, have you tried swapping them to see if the problem transfers to the other side
|
I did the same swap for the main lights (Nokya Arctic Whites) and now the brights don't work ... they worked for a week or two and now just stopped ... do I need new bulbs? Do I need to make a different bulb choice for the mains?
|
As for 94tbird's question, I know that I had trouble getting the Nokya's to snap into the socket ... could u have a short?
|
I have yet to upgrade my bulbs in my 05 yet, but from past experence the headlight system may have an internal circuit breaker that may be cutting power if the amperage load is getting to high. when moving from a 55/60 to a 80/100 watt bulb you do increses the apmerage load accross the circuit.
