45th Anniversary fender emblem location
alright guys i ordered 45th anniversary fender emblems but i cant find any alignment posters or visual guides for 05-09 mustangs. i want to mount them myself using the sticky surface instead of paying a bodyshop, or drilling the fender, so the closest thing i found was this:
Drivers side very top of my emblem "4- 3/4 from the mid crease of the front fender, tail of the pony "3-1/2 from the front fender jam that meets the front door drivers side.
i have no idea what that is.

heres another way to go about
i made colored arrows for measurements you can fill in
white: crease of the car to the 3rd hair clump of the horse's neck (3rd after ear)
red: tail to the door hinge
blue: from the base of the number 45 to the crease
yellow: horse's nose to the fender crease

On the GT models, there's a square hole in the fender where this or the GT emblem fit.

Oh, okay then you have two of the measurements you drew out above:
white arrow = 4.75" from the mid crease of the front fender
red arrow = tail of the pony = 3.5" from the front fender jam (where it meets the front door), on drivers side
Since the ponies are right and left specific, just follow those, and make sure it's level.

oooo okay now that helps with the decision making
what would be a good benchmark to level the horizontal orientation?

For sure do this. You're fender's are only "virgin" once, you can't go back. I wish I had the no-hole option for changes as time goes on. My .02

Arbo thanks for the .02 yes she's virgin only once
I think so too I mean u align based on the direction of the horses heading
And what do u think I could use to temporarily mark the fender with? Say a bar of soap like tailors use on pant hemming? Or sharpie sort of thing?

Playing the wise guy, eh? How's that working out for you?
"Introduced early on April 17, 1964, as a "1964½" model, the 1965 Mustang was the automaker's most successful launch since the Model A."

So you go tell the Ford leadership they were wrong, and need to change EVERY anniversary model to the year after. Oh, and every other Mustang enthusiast that continues to call the "1965" model year 1964 1/2. Good luck with that.
