Yes, my car is one of them. Is yours? This is the informtion I received today. The sales manager at my dealer was told yesterday that my car was on a railcar but didn't receive the railcar number. That made her suspicious, plus my telling her I was told two days early that there were a bunch of Mustangs at the railyard waiting for cars. So no railcars, no shipping. I'm sure there are a bunch of trucking companies willing to move these babies. Thats a whole lot of money Ford has sitting there. Who can I call? No one

Cthulhu 3/4/05 01:56 PM

mine won't be among them - but find out where those cars are, grab some black clothes and some wire cutters and meet me there....

Hard to know who to believe. Do you think that all the Mustangs leaving the plant that need rail transportation go to the same railhead for outbound destinations? Or do they use several? My car was built on the 23rd and the computer lady said it is now at the ramp as of March 1st. So why would mine escape this clog and yours did not? Maybe it's just shipments in a particular direction that are held up? We'll never know but all this speculation helps pass the time.

I live exactly half way between the factory and the holding yard or ramp I guess it's called. I see hundreds parked there everyday on my way to work. Feel like a child locked out of a candy store. Sometimes I see a parade of them driving from the plant to the yard, it's probably about 5 miles. I'm sure I've seen some of yours. They look quite nice. You're all going to be pleased. Unfortunately, mine's not built yet.

lol mines not either :(

If they told you its at the ramp, it with the 3,298 others. I was told this by the analyst and the sales manager was told the same thing by whomever she calls. This is a terrible way to do business.

mine's one of them. This is BULL. I will never order another car again. And Ford will be extremely fortunate if I buy ANYTHING from them after this.

rex 3/5/05 05:57 PM

yeah but on the other hand...isn't it nice to finally have a car that makes you emotional again...?? You wouldn't be this upset if you were waiting for a camry!!!

kcrw898 3/5/05 06:30 PM

I'd be more upset if I ordered in spring or summer and it was delayed. At least the weather still stinks, if I get it end of April or May, perfect.

kcrw898 3/5/05 06:34 PM

I've already changed my order once, upgraded the wheels. IF it takes much longer I might decide to make a few other changes. I'm starting to worry a bit about black and how it shows dirt. My second choice would be redfire, but it's too common, sonic blue is nice, but a bit too bright for my liking, Silver just seems plain and mineral gray seems like something an older person would get. White, yellow and lime are out of the question, windveil blue just doesn't seem exciting to me and torch red is too bright. OK, I guess I stick with black and wash it every other day.

I hate it when people say stuff like this. Quit putting things in perspective, let me be pissed. :-D I emailed Ford customer service and got an automated response saying they would get back to me in 3-5 business days. Who in the 21st Century takes 3-5 days to respond to an email. Sheesh.

StangNut 3/5/05 09:24 PM

Only a large disorganized company would do something like that... oh wait. Ford IS a large DISORGANIZED company.

GOFISCH 3/5/05 09:34 PM

At least you've been updated on the AutoLady line, mine still says as of Feb. 18th. Did they really say "released from the foreign assembly plant"? Ford is really freaking me out. I wonder if something will just fall off when I'm driving?

i was thinking the same thing as a matter of fact....

DENVER05GT 3/5/05 10:26 PM

Doesn't anyone live close to the Flat Rock plant or ther train ramps where all of these cars are sitting that can tell us when they start to see some trains coming and going from this place?

This would ease some of the tension.

kcrw898 3/5/05 10:41 PM

I do, if I stood on my roof I could see the plant. I see the cars out driving around with plastic on them all the time, I see them on trucks. I haven't noticed any on trains, but haven't looked hard for that. The yard next to the train is very full, all the V6's in one area, all the Gt's further back. I've heard the plant stopped building Mazda 6's, which are also produced there, to concentrate soley on the Mustang.

I know it sounds silly, but if you see some trains pulling up to the plant let us know. That would be a good indication that they are starting to move.
