2005+ San Diego Mustang Owners
Just wanted to start a thread where people in the San Diego area could chat about mods, places where you've gotten work done on your stang or just talk about upcoming shows and cruises in the area.

You might get a better response in the regional forums.

SDMC EVENT
Sept 3
Canyon Carving - (formerly The Gambler Cruise)
OK - after running the route I decided to change it up and make it a drive that ends at Dalton's on Sunday the third. We'll start at Coco's in Mission Gorge to leave at 8:45 AM. Any Noth County folks can join us at the Mobil station at 76 and the 15 at 9:15 where we will make a BRIEF stop. There will also be a photo stop in the middle of the run and another BRIEF stop in Old Town Temecula. I've attached the route. This is a very scenic and very twisty route on some very narrow roads. Caution should be exercised and PLEASE don't follow too closely. I guarantee you will enjoy this drive. If you don't I will resign my position. Clear your calendar and make a point not to miss this.

I was debating joining BMC but there forum setup gives me a headache. This is the best and most active forum site I've found for S-197's

well BMC is pretty much a dead site on the west coast, SDMC doesnt do much of anything, but hold meetings and charge dues, socalstangs.com is the best in SD so far, lots of members all knowing their stuff, tons of hookups in just about everything you can think about from cars to getting tanked at a bar, from detailing to fully overhauling your ride. Its a great club with great people, you should check it out, there are currently about 10-12 S197s that are active in the club but I post there a lot and use it to get a lot of events going for everyone, including our club SURFSIDE MUSTANGS which again is open to everyone but is mostly S197s, we are just working on a site and some other things so for now socalstangs is my home away from home, I urge you to give it a try
speaking of S197s in San Diego, I have now seen another Cervinis kited S197 in Del Mar, that makes 3 or 4 in North County alone, and yet none of them are on this site???? must be that they are all just buying them as is from Mossy in PB.

if you go onto socalstangs there are plenty of people that would recommend good body shops depending on your part of town, I know of one in Encinitas that would do it for probably $300, but also call up Ed at Stangwerks 909-987-5252 tell them Richard Robello sent you, they are in Rancho Cucamonga but do awesome work including many show winners.

Wow. Rob I just got off the phone with that guy he offered to paint it for $300 and buy my old bumper off me for a $100 which is great cause it offsets the paint job to $200

dam...
I just found out he's in rancho cucamonga now. that's like 2 hours away. What I'd waste in gas would add the other 100 that I was going to save. Well I guess I have to find someone else.

I said he was in Rancho Cucamonga and that I know someone in Encinitas that will probably do it for $300 and to sign on to SCS and ask because there are people in the club who could recommend someone closer to you
but Ed at Stangwerks does killer work and it wouldnt cost a $100 in gas, how bad of gas mileage are you getting? lol, seriously arrange it so that you can drop the car off and he could probably drive you back and/or deliver your car back to you, just ask him, he'll take care of you, and worse case youd spend $50 in gas which would be $250 total spent for a paint job, not bad IMO.

Is there a LA/OC group that is as active as socalstangs ?? I live in Whittier, which is on the border of N. OC and since mine should be in the driveway before the week is out it'd be good to know of some around here.

yeah socalstangs and surfside mustangs exist in the entire SoCal area, OC, LA and San Diego, as well as those east counties....lol
you might also want to check into LAMC, but its kind of like 3 small factions that all hang together and are like one big group in the end.
