Has anyone completed an upgrade to a 2005-2009 Convertible that provided a more comfortable ride??

I doubt you'll get a good answer. Most people modify the suspension to handle better.

You can probably put some smoother or more forgiving shocks and struts on there. Get some tires with more side wall and maybe a little less width.

Yeah I think the tires would be my first move. For a softer ride you want more sidewall, and/or a softer sidewall. You can increase the sidewall height by going with higher aspect ratio -- that is the second number in the size, like 245/40. If you don't change the wheels, this will increase the overall diameter of the tires which is generally not a problem for clearance but it will throw the speedometer off a bit. Or you can change to smaller diameter wheels and bigger sidewall tires to maintain the same overall diameter. Also some specific tire makes/models are known for a softer or smoother ride. Tire Rack could probably help you with that.
A shop that specializes in shocks/struts might be able to make a recommendation on some softer ones but most people go in the other direction so I am not sure about this.
