Transmission Question
 

I have a '94 GT with an automatic transmission. If I barely give it any throttle it shifts fine from 1st to 2nd and accelerating hard it shifts fine in every other gear. When accelerating "normal" I have to let off the throttle to get it to shift from 1st to 2nd. When I shift manually it shifts fine from 1st to 2nd but I'll have to let off the throttle to get it to shift from 2nd to 3rd. When I bought the car a couple months ago the seller said the throttle cable needs to be adjusted to make it shift correctly?!? I assumed it just needed a to be rebuilt. I have not had it checked out by a mechanic yet because I can still drive it fine the way it is. I am planning to purchase a set of 4.10's for it and want it to be shifting correctly after they are installed. I guess my question is do you think it's a linkage problem or just needs to be rebuilt? Have the tranny checked out first. Fix the tranny before installing the gears.

Im guessing shift solenoids. Been researching on mine and that what sounds like on yours.
