Found out 2 mos. ago my '03 Mach had prior paint and bodywork before it was sold to me as a new car. Ford's buying mine back and putting me in an '04 for the difference in MSRP. I wanted an Azure Blue instead of the Torch Red but the dealership only has a Torch Red with no Azure Blues coming. Should be able to pick it up Thurs. :nice:

congrats... too bad you got the bad one in the first place

Dan 5/23/04 01:08 PM

LOL, you sound just as excited to get the second one.

Obviously the Mach 1 is a purchase that never gets old.

mustangfun101 5/23/04 11:43 PM

I'm glad for you. I'd take pretty much any color, they all look good. I'm sure we'll be seeing pictures of the new car?????????

i almost agree. i think the black machs kind of make it stand out less cuz u cant c the hood stripe

buzz_s281 5/24/04 05:47 AM

Good to see that it's working out for you. I agree with you about the black Machs. Although I would choose either the Yellow or Orange Mach if I were to get one. That's what makes this car so special, the choices are out there.

Redbaron93 5/24/04 09:14 PM

They had a Yellow automatic, but for the price difference and the fact I don't want an auto I went back to Torch Red.

JeffreyDJ 5/25/04 08:47 AM

I like the Torch Red. Its a good choice. The black really off-sets well. Glad things worked out for you.

conv_stang 5/31/04 10:11 PM

yeah i agree on the black mach. though it makes the car more of a sleeper for those unsuspecting hondas

JeffreyDJ 6/1/04 08:36 AM

Did you still need me to drive down to the dealership to look at the Azure Mach for you in Franklin?

conv_stang 6/1/04 11:41 AM

If possible, yes. That would help if you could make a visual inspection. I'm waiting on my dealer to call me to let me know they got the car for me.

How did you find out about the prior body work?

I'm pretty sure that I have the same situation on my 04 GT but I'm unsure how to investigate.

JeffreyDJ 6/1/04 04:56 PM

See PM for more information. Looked pretty good overall.

Edit: Funny note. I had four salesmen come out specifically to see my Orange Mach 1, and at least one other who casually walked by it a few times. The sales guys were friendly overall, though I didn't talk to them much as I was dictating to my wife over the phone as she transacribed (otherwise I'd have forgotten what I saw).

Castle 6/1/04 05:38 PM

Decided to get the blue afterall eh? Or was the red one sold out from under you?

Redbaron93 6/1/04 10:09 PM

Yeah, the Red one was sold out from under me. Deb and I really wanted Blue anyway.

04TorchRedGT - Have a bodyshop look your car over if you're that concerned about it, then get with your selling dealer. Make sure you document everything.

Castle 6/2/04 12:39 PM

I just checked. Eckrenrod sold their blue one. I noticed they still have their 2 comp oranges though.
