i have a quick question. i had a 2000 mustang that had a single din radio with a seperate single din cd player or pocket. i am in the market for another mustang but i want the one with a double din radio, does anyone know what year between 2000 and 2004 they switched the radios? thanks!!!!!!!!

2001, actually. Heh.

If you want the stock setup, you're probably gonna need to replace the whole HVAC tower in the middle there. I know what you speak of, as I have a '99 and a '03.

i dont care to keep the stock setup the reason i want it to have a double din is to put in a kenwood excelon 6.5 inch screen dvd/cd and navigation. i work in a custom car audio shop and have done several of these and they fit like a glove and look awesome.

Jason, as Frank said, you can pick up the tower parts for the dash for about $200. to remove, you have to remove the radio and CD player, remove the screw that holds the supporting bracket (down by the amp) and PULL HARD! it pops out. Simply replace with a 2001-4 piece and the job is done! (I cannot foresee a problem)
