Impossible parking brake

Impossible parking brake
Hi guys,
I had my parking brake go out in my 2003 GT so I replaced the brake cables (all 3) and also replaced the calipers, which were unrelated but are brand new. Once everything was installed, the cables were not pulling on the caliper springs but were at max tension when you pulled on the lever inside the car. Nothing is hung up or rusted, everything in that path is brand new, yet it feels like if we pull it even an inch off the floor it will snap the cables. Any suggestions?

Use the instructions in the link below to adjust the parking brake cables.
