I think that all Mach 1s should have the black honeycomb decklid trim panel; classic Mach 1s did and it makes the car stand out from the rest.

Classic Design Concepts has that panel with a Mach 1 badge, but now they offer it with the badge painted red or blue. Click the pic.

I am torn on whether or not I like the honeycomb on Machs. I was a Hooters last weekend with about 7 Machs and 3 Bullitts. One of the Machs (Azure Blue) had the honeycomb, but not the CDC honeycomb. It looked pretty good, but not sure if I would put it on mine.

TMSBrad 5/23/04 07:47 PM

I think it looks awesome on all of the Machs. I wish Ford had put it on there from the factory.

Here's a Competition Orange Mach with the trim:

Looks better on the Orange than the Blue!

Maybe if CDC comes out with an Orange Mach 1 badge on the honeycomb I might bite!

mr-mstng 5/23/04 07:59 PM

I'll be getting one for mine.

TMSBrad 5/23/04 08:14 PM

Send pics ASAP Rob; I'm really curious to see how that painted badge looks on a Mach.

mr-mstng 5/23/04 09:11 PM

Will do.

Thanks Brad, I'm looking at getting a Mach 1 when I get back to the states....you just gave me another reason to get one. I like that item.

buzz_s281 5/24/04 05:56 AM

That really sets the car off even more. CDC has some pretty cool stuff.

JeffreyDJ 5/24/04 09:34 AM

I've been torn if I should get it or not. I don't think it looks bad, there's just other things I'd like to get.

CatmanJJ 5/27/04 10:33 AM

Pretty cool, dunno if I wanna put it on my Mach though.

Thanks for the White pic Brad. I'm still debating on getting this for mine. I liked them a lot at first, but the more I looked at them, the cheaper they looked. The jury's still out though...I think the painted letters is a great touch though.

Along those same lines I think if I had a mach I'd have to put on rear window louvers. Am I the only one that thinks that's something Ford should have added??

Really, if they're going to go with magnum rims, mach striping, and the shaker...

CatmanJJ 5/27/04 12:41 PM

I'm not much of a purist, I like the clean look more. :dunno:

the orange just makes anything look better, IMO though i am kind of biased i guess. wish i had convinced the wife a mach 1 was worth it. oh well cant complain since she said i can get an 05 or 06 when i want too. so the 04 is her car :-D

I'm not much of a purist either, but I like the clean look on certain types. On coupes and Cobras I think less is more. But other models like the Mach and to a lesser extent the GT can handle a bit more stuff. On white cars like yours though I agree. Clean is better. I think white would show too much contrast if it was junked up IMO.

mustangfun101 5/29/04 12:17 AM

Hmmmm, I like the panel on the white. Anything to make more of a difference from the GT's.

CDC was at Carlisle, so I picked up a set there.

After:

BTW, they had the sequential taillights ...for $200 plus core charge. I thought that was pretty steep for a wiring harness. Brad, how much did you pay for yours, and where did you get it?

Look pretty good! :nice: I'm still undecided.

How is the fit/finish?
