Strut - Shock install?

Does anyone know of any good write-ups for installation instructions for front struts and rear shocks? I have a '99 V6 and was thinking about attempting this project some weekend, while saving some money (as opposed to bringing it to the shop), but wasn't sure if I thought I could pull this project off. Is this fairly straight forward or a pretty complex project? I'm fairly new to doing mods on my Stang, but also looking to do the ones that I can.

Rear shocks are very easy. Disconnect at the bottom, disconnect at the top.

Front struts are not for a garage mechanic unless you have the tools and the knowledge. In addition, you will have to get an alignment if you do the struts.

I also need to do this on my V6 this summer.

I heard that shocks/struts don't call for an alignment, only if you do springs.

I'm pretty sure that's correct. You should only need an alignment if you change the spring height.

When I installed my Kenny Brown kit I went to get it aligned after installation and the thing was perfect. Maybe I got lucky but mine didn't need the alignment.

Hmm, I'm leaning towards giving it a shot some weekend working with my Dad. I'm thinking if I am diligent, I can pull it off....and I'll never know unless I try. One mod at a time.....here we go!

any time you unbolt the struts and drop the front suspension you should get an alignment unless you get it back exactly like it was when you took it out. Atleast thats what i was told. And I get my car aligned for free
