Turn the heaslights on. Go to battery and wiggle terminals/wires. See if the headlights come on at all. So many time i have seen bad terminals or wiring cause this

FYI, mine failed intermittently so it all looked good too. But when I finally replaced it (after everything else since it wasn't that old), problem was solved. So they can be deceptive little buggers.
I'd also have that 6 mo. old alternator checked just in case.

Oh that sucks- are you ok? Sounds like it could have been a lot worse... Junkyard is the cheapest option if you get lucky- otherwise check online, there's plenty of places selling mustang parts, like American muscle or CJs pony parts. If you have a good mechanic sometimes they have a line on used parts- I have a guy who got me a side view mirror for $10... The same one the stealership wanted over $300 to fix- you just have to spend some time looking. You can also check and post in the parts section in the forums.

For me late model restoration is good. I live in Texas and the are here so i get quick deliveries. I would also check the junk yards as they can be dirt cheap. Also check ebay.

Eh, that was back in the day. We've settled our differences.
