I was looking for an ignition upgrade and came across this Direct Hits. Anybody know of anyone who used these? I presented the idea to a guy I work with who has an electrical engineering degree and he said the theory is sound. Seems like a cheaper alternative to multi spark discharge ignitions and I'm not expecting an increase in power or anything, just want the engine to run a little better (i.e. smoother & better gas mileage.)

your right the theroy sounds good, but honestly I think its a gimic. Usually the only way i've seen to get a more powerful spark is to upgrade the ignition (i.e. coilpack, ignition box). I really dont know.

Put it this way, without getting into a deep discussion on Ignition IGBTs and CDIs, your ignition system is fine. I see this stuff all the time, and have to laugh. Adding any external circuit to 'fool' the computer will most likely cause some type of damage and or unexpected consequence. I seriously doubt the reliability is anywhere close to what auto manufacturers spec.

In short. Don't buy it.

Thanks for the replies, it kinda looked like a gimick, but I guess I had to hear it from someone else. I'll just go with some nice MSD wires and some good plugs, it was about time to change 'em anyway.
