Okay, new to Mustang question, save me the following the lines to figure it out. Look at the 2 pictures and tell me what the items are and what they do. They are both found in the passenger side of the engine bay on an 88GT.
Also, 3 rd picture is steering after installing tubular K member, I will need a spacer or longer shaft, ideas?

I know the first picture is a vacuum canister, what is it used for, where does the vacuum line that goes through the firewall go? I know the second picture is a relay, do you know what it controls?

OK, firt pic is of the charcoal canister used for recycling fuel vapor to the fuel tank. An emissions thing. In AL you dont need it.
The second pic is the WOT (wide open throttle) relay for your AC compressor. When your EECIV computer sees WOT it sends a signal to this relay opening it which interrupts power to the AC compressor so you can have full power and save the compressor from high RPM's.
As far as the 3rd pic, I dant really know what prob i'm looking at. Is the Bolt hitting the K-member. It might be as easy as "modding" the K-member.

Thanks Ken,
On the canister, what is the solenoid valve and the vacuum line that goes through the firewall?

On the AC relay, is it okay just to delete (a/c has been deleted)

on the steering rod, I think I need a spacer to fill the gap so the rag joint will not be deformed, or I need to slot the spring perch holes so the k member will slide back.

Not quite sure how the solenoid works the canister and it function were briefly explained to me before i realized I didnt need it.

If you deleted the AC then yes, the relay is just extra weight. You can toss it.

I see what you mean now on the 3rd pic. it looks like the steering shaft might be able to go a little further down onto the shaft coming out of the rack. If not it might be able to be shortrned at the other end too. ei...near the firewall.
