Fender rolling???

I am needing to roll the lip on the rear fenders on my 87 mustang. The tires i have on there now rub really bad when i make a turn and when i launch at the track. Does anyone have a technique that works better than others? I really dont want to take a hammer to my feders! Any help is appreciated!

I just hate to spend that much money on something im probably only going to use once! Ive also seen one by that same company that is only $50, have you heard anything good about that one? That one is a little more in my price range! Lol

Did you use a metal or wood bat? Did you start in the middle and work your way out or how did you do it? Ive never done it before and i really dont want to mess my fenders up! Lol

Take a wood bat put it in the front of the tire by the door...and then just roll the car backwards while someone pushes down on the bat handle so u can really tuck the lip up. Then repeat til you are happy

There must be someone locally who has the tools that can do it professionally for you. I checked out sometime ago nearby where I am and remember the cost of doing it was not too bad.

I've heard of people using a stout piece of PVC pipe for the same purpose though a bat is the "best" DIY solution if not using the $200+ fender lip rolling tool. Speaking of which, you could just buy it and rent it out to people in the area who want to have the same thing done to their cars.
FWIW, I got the $50 item too. Haven't used it yet. Just remember the pads are a wear item and a heat gun is recommended when using either tool because it lessens the chance of the paint cracking during the process.

Well the tool arrived and sadly it wasnt a strong enough tool to get the job done. So dont waste your money!

Call around to shops who do restorations on muscle cars.....they tend to be the ones that are able to do this fender rolling.

Well i went ahead and tryed my own way! I cut some releif joints and then tapped it all the way up with a hammer! The fenders are lipped now but on every releif joint it made a small bump on the outside of the fender! I guess now i got to do some body work and get it repainted! I wanted to post this and let everyone know not to do it this was unless you are wanting to do body work!
