Post A/C Install

Hi,

I am currently trying to restore my 89 Mustang 5.0 GT, which has no A/C. All components were removed by previous owner. I was wondering if anyone has some info on parts or where i can buy from, also I'm not very car savvy so any instructions would be very helpful. I realize, I could have professionals do it but I want to try myself.

It was expensive, but I am currently working on a Classic Auto Air deluxe kit I bought from National Parts Depot. It includes everything except you would have to source an A/C/power steering bracket, condensor mounts/bolts, and probably the bracket/bolts that hold the accumulator. The deluxe kit includes the evaporator for inside the heater core and the standard kit doesn't. The instructions aren't the greatest but they I am lucky enough to have factory a/c to use as a guide. CAA will help with any problems I have over the phone.

Wow thanks for the info, unfortunately I have no A/C components what so ever lol even the control ***** in the dash are missing so I'm trying to get all the Info I can before I start purchasing parts. I do have both Haynes and Chilton manuals but they are not very specific on the Parts needed. What would you recommend I do?

Well, you can go to Latemodelrestoration.com for a lot of info, click on "79-93" and then "A/C". They have mostly everything except the dash controls and compressor brackets. MPS auto salvage has the dash controls used. You could see if there are any junkyards in your area with a Mustang in it to try and ****** some items off of it. Like the front compressor bracket. Lastly, since it is car show season luckily, if you don't have any friends with a Fox-body Mustang, I would go to a car show and try to find a Fox-body there and ask the guy if you can take some pictures of his engine compartment (if he has A/C) so you have somewhere to start if you gather all the parts you need...I just checked out National Parts Depot and they have a lot of stuff (example: new dash controls for your car, $39.95 new. That's a good price.
