^^ That's great! That was my first new Mustang I ever bought. My wheels were different though. Mine was only $9,616 compared to that figure they quoted. Theirs must have been LOADED!!
The thing that they did not know about during this video was that horrible Crossfire GM engine. All my friends and co-workers that bought the new 1982 Trans Ams and Camaros had their cars in the shop non-stop. My 302 never missed a beat.
So I Notice AM Radio Delete Credit. Was That No Radio at All??
Crossfire Was A Really Stupid Name Choice as Back In Those Days it Was Nomenclature For Sparkplug Wires Arcing One To Another and Making The Engine Miss or Run Rough! Crossram Injection Would Have Been a Better Choice! It Did Look Cool Though! They Were Playing on The Trunk Option For The Early Z-28's Dual Carbs Setup. Trunk Option As It Came With Car But Was Not Installed At the Factory! If Memory Serves!
The 1982 Mustang 5.0L engine marked the return of performance for the Fox Body, featuring a High Output (HO) 302 cubic-inch V8 that produced 157 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque. It utilized a 2-barrel carburetor, a specialized cam, and a double-roller timing chain, powering the newly reintroduced GT model. Key 1982 5.0L Engine Details:
Features: High-output cam, double-roller timing chain, and stiffened valve springs.
Performance Context
The 5.0L "HO" (High Output): This engine was designed to revive the Mustang's performance image, replacing the 4.2L V8.
Transmission: Paired with a 4-speed manual transmission.
Significance: It served as the foundation for the modern 5.0L Mustang era, even being adopted by some law enforcement agencies for its improved capabilit

^^ We had the AM/FM cassette. Interesting that it isn't on the sticker. Maybe the dealership added it?? I have no recollection of that though.
it's strange how 157 HP seems ridiculous, yet the 4 speed on this very light car made it really quick.
My 02 Harley Truck Has The Remote CD Changer and Cassette Player Combo. The Cd Changer Works Only When it Wants To Even Though it Was Replaced Not To Long Ago along With Head Unit That Radio Quit on! I Just Dug Out The Cassettes and They Play Just Fine! Love Old Tech Solutions. I Likely Have a Wiring Short Somewhere in Radio Setup & Someday I May Try & Track Down But as Long as Everything Else Works No Worries.
I Would Add There is Like Only One Good Classic Rock FM Station Left in My Area. We Have Almost All Spanish Radio Stations in Our Area!
