Man, Arin, you bring back memories of my first, my II. I also had to learn the stick on it when I got it. Funtimes. Don't get overzealous, though. Make sure you know that stick before tossing the car around the curves!
Wish I still had mine. That, and my Muskrat. Although the II would now have a 5.0 and be a major sleeper... And still Orange, of course. The Muskrat would still be a 6, it was funner that way. People don't expect that in a car that looked as good as it did.
I am officially jealous, my friend. Enjoy it, and whatever you do, DON'T LET IT GO. Trust me.

thanks for the comments guys. and trust me, this car will never leave me. in fact i would not give it up for a brand spankin new GT500. theres just something about the II that screams "drive me!"
and despite being a sixer, its still peppy, and it handles like its on rails (well, compared to a 98 mazda protege or a toyota corrola ) but honestly, i did not expect it to handle this good. must be the weight factor...
i love this thing. and im so happy becuase this is the first carberator car i will be able to work on! im so proud of myself for taking off the air cleaner assembly and cleaning the blue metal cover today. its not much, but its one of many things i will do to this car.
and you wouldnt beleive how many heads this thing turns. from kids in minivans to old ppl in their caddies, everyone has been staring at my car lately. which is cool, because im a reg'lar old attention stealer
i know i mentioned earlier that i wanted a 351W. now im thinking a 347 would be better. it would look more like a stock cobra II 302 and plus, no one would be able to tell its a 347, whereas with a 351, EVERYONE knows lol.
the best part of my II? im rockin out with my two speaker AM/FM radio! lol, for 70s equipment, it sounds pretty good, considering i have no antenna (how the heck do i replace that thing?)
and here i go ranting again becuase im too bigheaded with my happiness. once again i must say, driving stick is the most fun ever i've had in a car i live the felling of pulling the shifter back and feeling it engage, unlike the poopy automatics i've driven where i dont do anything. autos make driving too boring. but hey, whatever suites your boat or something like that
