It's true. I forgot which one of those motors my dad got from a Van to put on his CobraII! He only had the Cobra for about two weeks before the mechanic was able to throw the whole project down the toilet

AWESOME Arin!
Looks like all she needs is a new front spoiler!
fantastic man really fantastic...I wish i still had mine
Oh a tip..they tend to rust around the chrome on the taillights so keep your peepers peeled for it.

Then go out and get yourself a maxed 302 and bolt it in..although make sure you put the V-8 front springs in it or you will drag the nose around like i did

not a 302, or 351C

351W!

dragging the nose is bad? all the guys with those super cool civics with three foot wings always drag theirs around!

seriously though, springs and brakes are on my list first, along with louvres. since im going 4 wheel discs and 5 lugs, arin will need new wheels. im thinking 03 machs, bullitts or chrome 95 cobra Rs...or.....

these :

as they always say, first make her handle, then make her stop, and then make her go

You can fix that front spoiler with a heat gun, just take it off, lay it down and heat it up then bend it straight. The originals are alot better than the fiberglass repro spoilers because they break easy. The original urathane ones bend when you hit a curb but don't break.

oh trust me, when they see what i do to my II, they WILL respect it

i still cant get over that thing
actually i found this II by chance. i was set on an 83 GT, in MUCH worse condition, for about $500 less. i went back to craigslist (best clissifieds site ever) and started browsning for fun and wha?! a cobra II!!

i cant beleive that my mom likes it. and the insurance, its almost like this car was MADE for me!

question: will V8 springs from a fox body fit for the conversion of my II to a V8?

and will 5lug disc brake conversion kits for a fox body fit the II?

just wondering, cuz II parts are hard to find! jebus

I don't think fox body springs will work on the II, and I don't think the 5 lugs will work. if I remember right, II's use 5 lugs from the ford grenada.

dunno if the M will fit.\\btw, you guys are reading the post of a 1976 cobra II owner. we drove over a hour to get to the ppls house, they were really nice. they've had the car since 78. it needs a new hatch (rust), the turn signals need a new flasher unit i think (you have to manually hit the signal switch up and down for it to engage) and the drivers seat needs some work. its drives great. sounds nice, for a 6. i live the feel of an older car. it feels stiff and sturdy, and i think the suspension is stiffer than my mom and dads cars (2 mazdas and a bimmer). even if it isnt too fast, it feels fast. i love this car.

i love the fact that its a 4speed. my dads gonna teach me how to drive it later (actually, today was the first time he drove one in god knows how long! i think he said the last time was before he moved here from Fiji in 86)

only thing is i didnt have cash on me, and stupid banks are closed on sundays. we put down a $300 deposit to hold it for the week, and sometime this week (sunday at the latest) ill give them the remainder ($2000) and it will be my baby!\

i love this car!the interior is great too, one minor tear in the leather, but thats it. AND they have the original manual and all that junk

and you know the best part? its my lil bro's Bday! i thought ahead and got him a hot wheels 68 cougar

more info later, Arin has to go to work now, and pay for those mods!

also, i looked at the front spoiler and its broken in a few places, i dont think i can fix it. not just bent, but brokwn. i think i may go with a king cobra front end from Mustang Unlimited~ insdtead

im soooooooooo happy!
