Just in time for the summer cruising season!
I still don't understand how or why the focus on the visual inspection/requirement for a OEM-style exhaust system and routing if aftermarket parts could potentially make it "cleaner" than the original could ever be.
Enough about that, so when's the paint going on?

well its staying aat the shop for a few more days because the owner said he would go through the 5 page invoice a thorough going over to make sure the price is as low as possible, which I couldn't say no to.
Sorry for the lack of pics, but hey, it might save me hecka moolahs, which only means more mods for the II so, do the math
but jesus christ guys, the feeling of seeing your first car become what you wanted it to become when you were 14 and first bought it is absolutely astonishing. I can't wait

well, i've been really busy these last few weeks. there's a lot of crazy summer thangs, as well as an unfortunate death in the family, but I'm back! and whats more, I have news!
Yes ladies and gentlemen, I finally got to drive Fiona home. The smog referree station was a PITA but its finally done. took four tries. The first time, the shop booked one space of time, then when they arrived the smog guy said they would need two spots, so reschedule. the second time they did reserve two slots of time, but were 5 min late, so the appointment got cancelled the NEXT time they finally made it but the tech kept complaining about things like "this car doesn't have bumpers" or "why are the turn signals dangling like that?" and what have you. in any case the NEXT time it was finally done and smogged.
The car's got a new VIN and is technically a 1990 Ford Mustang now lol. also she has never run this smooth in ever. like ever. And the power steering even works now, its mind boggling. I still need to sort out the rear suspension and a host of other little things, but at least the hard parts over. Tomorrow I will be doing all the DMV hassles and paying my reg back fees (since my mom decided to take it OFF of non-operational )
also it's pretty cool to have a check engine light now :P
There will be videos when I bring her back up to berktown. hehehehehe

thanks everyone! its been a long time coming. Paid way too much money to the DMV this morning but she is legally registered now. Only thing is i surrendered those old blue plates years ago when i was trying to get vintage registration and then changed directions. i wasn't able to apply for new plates beccause the car is still registered in my moms name, so i came home and ordered custom plates instead, because you can do that over the internet :P
however since I'm a cheapass and the rest of my money for the forseeable future is tied up in paying the shop, i opted for the cheapest possible custom plates:
its going to be a "kids plate", with a star instead of a hand and the rest of it is randomly generated. it was $20 but i know i am never going to find a time where my mom can come to the dmv to do the regular plate request thing.
and even if i didn't need to and it turns out i could have just ordered plates without my mom present, who cares. the money goes to the Child Health and Safety Fund so that's worth it.
i can't wait to see what randomness i get hehe

Ooh, let's play 'what'd be nifty' for Arin's plate!
Question... does it *have* to be LLLNNN where Ls are letters and Ns are numbers, or can it be a jumble? I hope jumble...
H1F1V3, or similar with Is or Es. Be so appropos, yeah?
N07H1N
F34RM3
H4TCHD, but it's only got the one number...
R4ND0M - Would be spectacular, of course.

its really great to haveher back. unfortunately theres still soem work to do. theres some resistance when turning the wheel full lock right, and the heater core's leaking. I remember it being blocked off before the efi swap, but completely forgot to tell the shop about it.
also i couldnt find a cap for the coolant overflow bottle at any parts stores, so i drew a circle of the same diameter, roughly lol, and went to the goodwill store, found a reusable plastic water bottle that seemed pretty close and now its closed up just fine whodathunkit?

youtube just removes all the audio i tried it then took it down again because it was pointless. they ask you to select a track for your video, but that would remove all the rest of the noise and dialogue and stuff. I'll see if i can find a better hosting place
