Isn't there a lower priced autometer line--autogage? I agree, though, that Autometer are some of the best around.

After drooling over the JME kits for a while I decided to make this myself.

Lookin' good, E! Are the gauges electrical or mechanical?

All ectecrical ones. The speedo being electrical is imprtant since it is then calibrateable (is that a word? LOL), this was imprtant to me since my transmission/rear-end/tires/wheels are all non-original. Mechanical oil pressure gauges can make a heck of a mess if anything goes wrong, and mechanical water temp gauges look fugly in the engine compartment (IMHO).

Note, I do not have a fuel gauge in there since there's only room for three small ones. I do have a trip odometer so I think I'll avoid running out of gas, at least unless my teenager siphons some out

I am quite happy with my Sun Super Tach II from the local auto parts store.

LOL...yeah I reckon so :D

Funny thing about the electric gauges...the needles are free floating when there's no current. I just looked at the pic and I can tell you that my cam will be floating the valves at that RPM, my short-block builder/blueprinter said my bottom end was safe up to 8K. But my comp cam (278h) will lose all of its giddy-up long before then.

I guess so...if you are showing 6800 RPM at 38 MPH, perhaps a rear axle ratio change is in order :jester: It would be something off the line....but top out before you crossed the intersection :-D
