The red KC convertible was in "Mustang Monthly" several years ago. It is thought to be one of a group of 44 conversions of 1977 coupes done by Emmiss Coachbuilders of Florida USA and sold through a Ford dealer in Texas. The usual story is that the dealership created this one "KC" convertible with Ford replacement parts. So its not a production KC, but its really nice anyway!

I've seen 3 or 4 of the Emmiss convertibles on the web over the years. I've attached pics of 2 of them. A identifying feature seems to be the tiny rear quarter window which may be part of the original Ghia insert.

never thought about it before, but the convertible-ness really brings out the best of the II's body style. especially on that first one

Can you imagine how that critter must flex, even with additional structure added?
