I have been fortunate to be able to keep my first car, my 1968 Mustang GT Fastback. I have now owned it for 32 years. The original owner, with tears in his eyes, as he handed the keys to his pride and joy to a 15 year old teen, simply asked that I keep it original. I've honored that request and the Mustang is completely original and numbers matching, unrestored, and still wears its original Sunlit Gold Metallic paint...the original Firestone Wide Oval spare is still in the trunk and has never been used. The original FOMOCO headlamps have been removed and put up for safekeeping. I have made tons of great memories with Mustang.

hello everyone!

New to the forums

I have a 1969 mustang coupe, originally it was a 6 cyl then converted to a tired 302 currently the car is being restored and I will be installing a frpp boss 302 (b-cam) and new wheels will consist of Anthracite Fr500 wheels 18x9 (they will be narrowed) and 18x10. anyways here are a few pics of the car when she was running.

here is the look Im going for. I will also replace the original side scoop for a shelby scoop and also adding a black GT stripe

Man, that is outstanding. I love the originals especially the 67 and 68. I know how that guy felt somewhat handing you the keys. My first car was a 67 coupe. It was just a basic car with a 289 2v and automatic. It was that greenish lime color. Interior was perfect and the exterior could have used a little work but not much. The engine needed to be rebuilt and was just wore out. I didnt have the skills or money to put into it.

I sold it for 750 dollars which was big money back then. I had to have the money to get the next car. I wonder sometimes what ever happened to it. A Mustang collector bought it with the intent to use it as a driver. Im sure its probably long since been crushed or parted out.

Kudos to you guys who try to keep these cars on the road and original. I would love to hear more about your car.

nah I'm at the Academy of Art in SF and living in berkeley. I grew up in Redwood City though, went to Woodside High. alot of my friends lived up in Woodside so there were plenty of vehicular shenanigans at canada lol

I've posted this here before but I think it was lost in a forum crash.

Here's my semi-daily driver, a Meadowlark Yellow 1969 Mustang coupe. I bought it from the widow of the original owner a few years ago. He kept meticulous records on everything that was ever done to the car and also had the original buildsheet, window sticker and owner's manual, with the time of purchase inked inside the front cover. The car has been maintained but never formally restored. I added the Magnum 500s but still have the original wheels and hub cabs. The 302 V8 has well over 100,000 miles on it but you'd never know it.

I need to get some more pics of it sometime:
