'76 Cobra II. Should I buy it?

I have an opportunity to purchase a 1976 Cobra II for $6k.
The Vehicle I'm looking at has the 5.0 V8 with 70k miles and an automatic transmission. I am looking to purchase a car I can work on and mod/restore for the next several year. The car is in good shape. A couple rust spots on the back hatch and the interior needs some TLC. Looking for advice from some people who have done it before!
Is it worth looking into or should I move on?

I would say go for it if you have the tools and can make it well again. Price seems a little high. Body and paint work adds up fast when you have to pay someone to do it. You can do it and redo it until you get it right tho. Post a few pictures. I would like to know what one of these would be worth in great condition. Kind of a rare car I believe.
