The car, owned by Mike Maier, is a prime example of why his small company, Maier Racing, has earned so much respect among the industry’s tastemakers. People like Mike Musto, host of /Drive’s Big Muscle web series, as highlighted in the video below. “Not only is Mike one of the nicest guys in the hobby, but he’s a true enthusiast that cares about one thing, winning,” says Musto. “Everything Maier Racing builds is about winning. It’s about doing it right.” '66 mustang maier The ’66 Mustang, equipped with a 302 with about 300 horsepower, features a host of special features, including a trunk mounted suspension system that substantially improves the ride and handling of the car. For Maier, it’s a pretty simple formula developed from 70 years of racing experience passed down from his dad and a dedication to building specialty parts in-house. “Do whatever you do good, and if you do something good and it’s worth attention, it’ll bring it,” says Maier. Words to live by, in Mustangs, and in life. |
