What suspension kit should I use? I want to get a full suspension kit through American Muscle but I'm not sure how low I should go with it. My plan is to add a Cervinis side exhaust kit but I've heard you have to be careful with lowered mustangs if you use that setup. I'm leaning toward one of the Eibach kits. What should I do?

  • get the body kit first.install it on the stock chassis with the tires and rims you are going with then choose which lowering kit will meet your ground clearance needs.

Did you have to add and castor/camber plates with this kit? Hi, I want this kit but don't want to chew through tires any faster then I already do. I didn't see any castor/ camber plates on the Blackout product list. Do I need them? If not I'll be ordering today! Thanks

  • If you don't plan seriously tracking the car then you can just get the adjustable bolts to get your car back into alignment. This is the link for the bolts. http://www.americanmuscle.com/eibach-proalign-bolts-0512.html

    I'm a PORSCHE GUY in A MUSTANG???

So I'm a High Performance Drivers Education instructor for PCA and other clubs, and have owned GT3, Porsche Turbo, and other high end cars, tracking all of them. When I bought my Mustang, the first thing I thought was "WOW Ford has come a long way" And "Boy we need to lower that suspension." Having played with cars for more than two decades I knew I wanted a matched shock/strut and spring combo, and I've always been a fan of adjustable swaybars, so I went with the Pro PLUS kit for my 2012 GT. The rear system installs in less than 2 hours, start to finish. However, the front suspension will take longer and you will need specialty tools to aid you. I am fortunate that I own a very well equipped shop with TWO lifts, and the front setup still took 3 hours. Be careful installing the swaybar, as clipping it upside down puts it very close to the crank pulley/serpantine belt. Now for the good... This suspension transformed this Mustang. For a live axle car, I'm floored at how it transitions from corner to corner, and how it now puts the power down mid corner! The only DING to the package is this: Eibach went thru great pains to provide really nice hardware throughout the system. They also provide camber bolts for the front suspension so you don't have to worry about an alignment. However, lots of people are ordering the kit and not buying the camber bolts. Eibach should add it as an OPTION or just include the bolts and charge the customer accordingly. Otherwise, this is a GREAT KIT and my first mod after only a month of owning the car. No squeeks, not rattles. And the car is truly transformed!!

    Great Look and Ride

This handling kit gives your Mustang the ability to actually hit 1G turns on your Track Apps before breaking the rear tires loose. It's very exciting! Now that I have installed this kit the car just "feels" in tune with the road. I also have my steering in "Sport mode". The appearance this kit gives the car is just fantastic. It takes you from, "I have a mustang" to "I have a MUSTANG!". Other pieces I would suggest picking up would be a PanHard Bar. I picked up the BMR. When you lower the car there is a good chance the axle will shift slightly to the driver's side. Install a good PanHard Bar to correct this; it's easy to install while you're doing the back sway bars from the Eibach kit. Also picked up the Eibach camber adjustment bolts. Alignment guy told me those were a ton better then the factory installed ones and thanked me for supplying them when he did the alignment.

    Great System

The system was all in the box. I just had to install and I was good to go. I didn't need a caster/camber plate but I think I probably should have gotten the GT500 plates just to be safe. I also got a BMR Panhard Rod with it to ensure my rear end wasn't going to be out of alignment. It proved to be extremely necessary. Love the system, very quiet and rides smoothly. I have had eibachs in my Mustangs in the past and I dont think ill use anything else. I do wish they had more detailed instructions with the product but I managed to find some 3rd party instructions online and got it done in a day.

    Great Kit

I Love this kit. The car handles the way it should and the stance is perfect for me (not too low to be a nuisance because it’s daily driven). The actual drop ended up being a full inch in the front and rear. Eibach advertises 1.5 inch in rear but after 2 weeks, it’s still an inch which is ok with me because we have my son in the back seat most of the time. The ride is not harsh like I thought it would be. It is nice and tight in the turns and stays much flatter than stock. I did need the camber bolts to bring my alignment back into specs, but I ordered them at the same time as the kit so no big deal (was expecting it). I also installed the K&M Adjustable PHB at the same time which allowed me to center up the rearend after all was done. I think I may be saving gas because I don’t have to slowdown in turns like I used to. My only beef was the instructions contained no torque specs. At first I didn’t have the rear sway bar tight enough which caused a knocking sound when I went over bumps. The tech guys at American Muscle worked with me to figure out the source of the problem. After torqueing the sway to 75 ft lbs, that solved the problem.

    Eibach Pro-System plus

I recommend this product for anybody looking to improve handling and give you car that aggressive look. The job took less than a half day. The shocks and struts were packed nice ready to go and installed nicely. However, Eibach forgot the bushing kit for the swaybars so I had to resuse the original Ford gear and widen them to accomodate the larger sway bars. I called American Muscle Customer Service and they were more than happy to run the missing pieces down. I expect them this week. The ride is tight with no body roll and the alignment turned out to be dead on at the end of the project. The project car was lowered as they stated and has a great stance. That ugly wheel gap is gone and now have a mustang with a 5.0 that can carve some serious corners. Had Eibach shipped the bushings for the sway bar, the project would be done. Not a big deal because putting them on will take less than an hour when they arrive. I recommend this product highly and for the price and free shipping, it's unbeatable.

    The good & the bad:

The good: This kit completely eliminated body roll and immensely improved the car's handling. The car now takes corners like a champ and feels incredibly firm. The bad: The rear developed a squeak after the installation (just needed lube/adjustments, no biggie) but after looking everything over at the shop, the mechanics told me the left shock is busted and the right one is on its way. This is only after a few months after the install mind you.. If you're planing on doing work to the suspension I would buy the parts separately (and not get eibach shocks) to avoid multiple installation fees.

How to change your car from a furious slider to a balanced carver.

In short this kit is amazing. Though I do not recommend the installation to be done at home, it seems simple enough. Be fair warned that you will need camber bolts to correct the alignment once finished, or at least i needed it for my 2013 Mustang. A panhard bar is recommended however I do not have one installed and alignment looks and feels perfect. The ride is of course rougher, but more connected to the road. I live in Norfolk, which can really eat away at your suspension. This kit keeps those wheels planted even going around a corner that has small potholes everywhere. Could not ask for more control. If you do not have recaro seats like me then you will still slide in your seat but your car is going to stay planted without question. No more huge nose dives, and no more front lift when you are gunning it, the kit makes my car feel like a well balanced car finally. Could not ask for more of an outstanding product (besides camber bolts to be included)

    Awesome Upgrade!

I don't usually post reviews, but felt compelled to share my experience. My car is great, but the stock suspension was a big let down when trying to hustle the car through twisty roads. After having the Eibach Pro-System Plus installed I went on a test ride through twisty country roads and didn't want to come back. I highly recommend this suspension kit to anyone who enjoys spirited driving. This was money well spent.
