MSRP ADM
MSRP ADM
Greetings Mustang fans
I am going to purchase a B302 next year when the furor abates. Nothing new to the community but I am shocked at dealers lack of product knowledge and greed. Salespeople I contacted were absolutely clueless. MSRP and ADM will be a faint memory next year.
I learned how to turn wrenches building Mustangs. Sold my last resto-mod to help pay for the aircraft I built, photo attached. Cruises at 230MPH, top speed 300MPH. One must have a fun sled to drive to the airport.
Last Mustang was a 70 Sportsroof, 351 4V Cleveland, top loader 4 speed, 4 wheel discs, pretty metallic grey. Couldn't afford used Boss or Shelby in 1977 at 1500-3000 dollars........So next year, Carmax here I come, check out the Shelbys there now. Good luck to all and be careful.
Regards
Howard

BOSS's can be had for MSRP... ask me how I know.
The dealership I work for has plenty of knowledgable salesmen - most have worked here for 10, 15, 20+ years. We sold our '12 Boss 302 for MSRP (to a member here on the forums) and we even sold our '12 Laguna Seca for MSRP. No ADM's here.
Howard, not all salesmen are clueless and not all dealerships ask for ADM's. You just have to shop around a bit to find better dealers than you've contacted so far.

Again thanks for encouraging words.

Howard,
You will find your car.
Some factors to consider;
Even though a dealer is asking an ADM, they might be willing to move on the price to your liking if they know your serious, but this might take some persistence. ( Just ask ShaneM. His dealer was asking 5Gs over, he negotiated over the phone for a lower ADM and ended up with the #1 Boss!)
Also, if you do find a Boss at MSRP far away from home, you'll be spending money for your time, airfare, lodging, fuel, etc.
What would those numbers add up to vs. something reasonable over MSRP.
In my case, I did find a car at MSRP, but I'll be flying to Raleigh and driving 800 miles just to get her home.
Good luck! Be persistent.

Actually a GSM...
Some of you people need to get out of your own way. Not all dealers/salespeople are out to get you, and there are a couple on THIS forum who offer a lot of inside advice and tips, and then are rewarded with snide "car salesman" jokes. It gets old.

Nothing pithy intended. I wished you good luck, as based on my experience/educated guess, CARMAX won't be a great source for a 1 year old Boss, and you can definitely find a car for MSRP (we sold our only delivered BOSS so far for MSRP).
