Never Replace...UPGRADE Cervini's Cobra R Hood
Never Replace...UPGRADE Cervini's Cobra R Hood
As many of you know my car was hit while parked. The guy who did it was really honest and came and found me to exchange insurance information. They wrote me a check to replace stock hood, billet grill & repair bumper.
I chose to go with Cervini's Cobra R hood. I also replaced my 5.0 badges with HIGH OUTPUT 302 BADGES circa 1965. While it was apart, I had them paint my grill surround kona blue as well, looks a little more cohesive to me. These are the pics. I never seem to load them right but here goes....
In one pic there is still generous amount of TIRE BLACK on the rubber. These are all quickie picks with phone....

Mmmm, looks really good! I like the originality with those HO302 emblems. The painted grill surround works well with that grill too.
But the star of the show, for me, is still your Silverhorse qtr window louvers. Those babies just plain work. And as always I love other people's Kona Blue cars. Great color!

Guys thanks a lot. The effect in person is startling. Today, the first hour I was driving it around I got half a dozen thumbs ups and the like. Way more attention than I'm used to with it. I am pretty happy, now if I don't lose my **** in vegas tomorrow, I might just add some sound (new woofers or maybe boss side exit) either way, it will improve my experience....

I have to agree the SHR louvers are a great addition and I love how well you can see out them. On my old 2005 t gt he louvers pretty much completely block visibility. Not only are the SHR sexy, but they are also practical. All of it seems to be coming together just like I want and this hood mod was FREE! I highly recommend having some gently back into your parked car.
Also the SHR's, I know you have to remove the existing glass to put these in but do the SHR's themselves have glass or something else like acrylic etc?
Thanks,
Chris
Really nice combo!
Eric couple questions for you. I have been contemplating the Cervini Ram Air Hood for my 2011 GT and I am curious on the quality and strength of a fiberglass hood. I have never seen one in person so kind of torn on the idea. I know you can't use aftermarket strut kits, which is a bummer but not a show stopper. Are hood pins necessary? And how good is your paint match for Kona, I have Kona also and I heard that is a tough color to match really well.

The strength and quality of the hood seem very good. The body shop guy was very impressed. Fit was NOT plug and play and is very good, but not perfect. I don't have hood pins and have noticed no fluttering. One of the first things I did was grab some back roads and open it up to 100, no problem. I didn't have Cervini's paint the hood. My body guy convinced me that it would be best to have him, "fog" in the paint over the front fenders for a, "Perfect" match. Others have reported a good match with Cervini's painting service. I don't know if that applies to kona.
Yes the SHR louvers have some sort of, "Glass/ acrylic " in them. Visibility through them is remarkably good. Hope that helps
Looks badass man from what I can see!
Listen, Big E...I know it must be a PITA to squeeze your arms together close enough to take a picture, but for the love of god will you please get me some more pictures of that hood. From all front angles. Down low, up high, every shot you can imagine!
