Unhappy grabberpony.com

I'm just wondering if anyone knows if grabberpony.com is still in business?

I placed an order with them on August 5th and paid using Paypal $78.90. I ordered a Mineral Grey shift **** and the adapter for the boot. The order says that it is "in production" and I know the payment has cleared.

I e-mailed them about a week ago and also left a message (voice mail) to try and find out how much longer it would be "in production." So far no response in any shape or form. I try and give the vendor the benefit of the doubt but this is starting smell like rotten fish to me.

It doesn't seem like anyone cares about this thread but I called and left another message today that if I didn't hear something in the next day to cancel the order and refund my money.

I only posted again as a "caveat emptor"

I care I just didn't have any information to share! I've heard of the company, but never ordered anything through them.

I hope you are wrong, and get the item!

Hoping for the best for you. Never dealt with them myself. I am having a similar issue with a diecast model company. I finally talked to them yesterday, all ready to get angry, but the lady was nice, so I am waiting another week. Just like your case, they took my money, but no product and lousy communication. Wait and hope I guess. I would love to see picks of your shift **** once you get 'er installed.

+1 Rich

I too read your post but have never delt with that vendor so I didn't have anything to add.

Either way I would be concerned just as you are and be wanting a few answers, good luck!

I care.

But I've never dealt with them.

I do have a very nice white and black stripe rally ball shift **** you might like though.

I don't have any real info, but the several times I've dealt with them in the past they've been very responsive. I also checked their forum and the last entry was about their "4th Annual Grabber Rally" on 7/20 so it would seem they are still around.

Well I guess we will see since I filed a dispute through PayPal. Ordering something on the 5th of August and trying to communicate 3 times without an answer is unacceptable customer service IMO.

I got a shifter **** from them about a year ago. It was and still is a very nice product! Got only one complaint though ... It took them 6 weeks to get the product from them after I ordered it! He claimed he had a problem finding the resin it takes to make them due to companies going under due to the economy. Hopefully that isn't a problem for your situation! He said it was a 2 part mix and that consistancy in product quality has been a problem in the past also! He told me THEN that he was having these issues! Things haven't gotten any better in this economy.. in fact, it has gotten worse! He probably has been pulling his hair out trying to get things right and is struggling to succeed! After talking to him, I think he will deliver sooner or later. Be patient!

They responded to my PayPal dispute by saying that it will ship on August 30th. No e-mail or phone call just a response to my PayPal dispute. I want the MG ball and the handle but alittle communication would have made this whole process easier for both the vendor and me.

The owner is Mark, and I bought 2 shift ***** from him in the past. It is true that his lead times for shipping can sometimes be several weeks.

Not that it's a valid excuse, but he does occasionally make business trips to Asia. Maybe he has very limited access to email right now? His products are top notch, and I'm sure you'll be happy with the ****.

I got an e-mail from Mark tonight apologizing for the problem. He was indeed out of the Country and now I feel stupid for even posting this. He seems like a very stand-up guy who wants to do everything he can to take care of the customer.

I am totally satisified with how this is turning out and have faith the the shifter ball will be delivered and will look great on my car.

Thank you Mark from grabberpony.com

I'm glad it's all working out. It can be so frustrating when there is a lack of communication, especially in this "microwave age".
