A Little About Me

My name is Brad Barnett, and I'm a Mustang fan. I've owned three Mustangs ('73 351 2V Coupe, 2001 GT Convertible, 2006 GT Convertible), and my wife drove a 1998 Mustang until I totaled it. Even my high school's mascot was the Mustang. I am a member of both Magic City Mustangs of Birmingham and the Mustang Club of America.

I do not work for Ford Motor Company. I work full-time at SunGard Workflow Solutions in Birmingham, Alabama. This web site is just a hobby.

I am not a Mustang expert. I'm just a guy who loves Mustangs and knows a little about the Internet. I've learned much more from the readers of this site than I ever dreamed of knowing before I started it. I consider myself a Mustang history buff; I love to hear stories of Mustang's impact in the U.S. and all over the world.

The History of The Mustang Source

This site started as “Brad’s Stangs,” a simple one-page site I created while shopping for a Mustang in the spring of 2001. It was originally hosted on the student web servers at the University of Alabama. The first web address was http://www.cba.ua.edu/~bbarnet2/mustangs. It's come a long way since then. I began posting sketches of the 2005 Mustang in 2002. As the collection of information on “The 05” grew, so did traffic. Articles in The New York Times and Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords solidified the site’s position in the online Mustang community. But the site isn’t just about the 2005 Mustang; the Mustang Timeline, Publicity Ads, and Desktop Wallpapers sections provide information for every model year, and the Message Forums are open to all automotive discussion.
