‘Online Only Auction’ to be held through May 17, fans are encouraged to stay tuned for more Mustang action at the September auction.
Do you feel that there’s not enough happening in the car world of late to feed your need to see some great cars? Then we suggest you plan on going full “steed” ahead to experience Barrett-Jackson’s Online Only Auction.
Barrett-Jackson is currently hosting its “Online Only May 2020 Auction,” which launched Friday, May 8. For Ford enthusiasts, it’s a chance to bid on some pretty incredible Pony cars, including a low-production Candy Apple Red 1969 Boss 429 (Lot #241). One of the first 150 built, it was at the top of the Ford Performance food chain in 1969.
A Bespoke Mustang for Everyone
“We couldn’t be more excited with the diversity of the Mustangs we’ve consigned for our May 2020 online auction,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “We’ll have nearly 100 premium collector cars with some incredibly rare Mustangs included. A model from nearly every decade is represented on our online docket, starting with a classic 1968 Shelby GT500 Mustang Convertible (Lot #236) to a rare 20th Anniversary GT350 Fox Body (Lot #114) with just under 5,000 original miles.”
Barrett-Jackson’s Online Only May 2020 Auction will be run on the online auction platform Proxibid, so bidders and sellers alike will enjoy secure online transactions and an infrastructure that boasts 99 percent uptime. And if you’re looking to spruce up your man cave, the online auction will also include nearly 250 pieces of genuine Automobilia.
Some other great Mustang beauties you’ll have a chance to bid on during the online auction include this 1995 Cobra SVT (Lot #203). One of only 760 built with a black clear-coat and black leather interior, this “still in the wrapper” Cobra shows only 108 actual miles on the odometer. If you’re looking for a more classic Mustang, then you’ll be interested in this restored 1970 Boss 302 (Lot #219). Rescheduling
News of the Online Only Auction comes as Barrett-Jackson announced it has decided against holding its Fifth Annual Northeast Auction, scheduled for June 24-27, 2020, at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. The decision was made based on the uncertainty of live events being permitted by local and state officials during the current COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to the company’s efforts to protect the health and safety of all auction participants and employees.
“We spent a great deal of time consulting with local public health and government officials,” Jackson said. “The team at Mohegan Sun has also been a tremendous resource for us throughout this process. However, it became clear there is simply too much uncertainty about hosting a multi-day live event during this public health crisis. Given the incredible amount of work and time that goes into producing a Barrett-Jackson event, it unfortunately is not feasible for us to move forward in Connecticut.”
Full refunds for ticket holders will be available. Details for refunds will be communicated directly to ticket holders.
“The Barrett-Jackson community is really a big family that unites when times get tough,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “This is certainly one of those times. The decision against holding our Northeast Auction wasn’t made lightly, but I have faith we’ll pull together through this crisis and look forward to a time when we can gather again.”
In addition to the Online Only Auction held May 8-17, fans are encouraged to stay tuned for an announcement regarding a summer Barrett-Jackson auction. Barrett-Jackson’s Las Vegas Auction at the Mandalay Bay Casino and Resort from September 10-12, and Palm Beach Auction, which was rescheduled for October 15-17, 2020, will be held as scheduled, unless otherwise announced.
