A few months ago we told you about the lowest mileage Mustang Boss 429 on the planet going up for auction. It was an incredible example of the ultimate Mustang muscle car, extensively restored with just 97 miles on the odometer. Now we have yet another impressive Boss 429 set to cross the block, this time at Mecum’s Monterey auction in just a few weeks. While this particular Boss 429 has a few more miles (902 to be exact), it’s amazingly still in absolute original condition. The car has had a few owners over the years, including MCA authenticity head judge Bob Perkins, but has always managed to remain unmolested down to its window sticker and factory plastic wrapping over the seats and steering wheel.

“There isn’t a nut or a bolt or a screw or a sticker or decal that isn’t original to that car,” Perkins says of his former car. “That’s what makes it so important.”

While the lowest mileage Boss 429 sold for $286,000, slightly above today’s market average, Mecum has set the estimate for his particular example at $600,000 to $750,000. That would make it the most expensive Boss 429 on the planet, and one of the most expensive Mustangs in existence – only behind a few rare vintage Shelbys.

This amazing Boss 429 is scheduled to be auctioned off on August 16th, and we’ll be sure to tell you how much it goes for and have plenty of detailed photos of the car as well.
